Creative Technology today announced the release of Sound Blaster G3, a portable gaming USB DAC Amp that marks the latest addition to the Sound Blaster revolution ignited 30 years ago. Designed and built with game console users in mind, Sound Blaster G3 is the first Sound Blaster that works directly on PS4 and Nintendo Switch via a driverless plug-and-play format, and is also compatible with PC and Mac. Palm-sized and weighing in at a mere 32 grams, it boasts a great balance of the fabled Sound Blaster audio signature, on-the-go customization and other nifty gaming features at an attractive price tag.

Sound Blaster Signature
Backed by Creative's strong foundation built over three decades of innovation and expertise in audio innovations, Sound Blaster G3 is well-equipped to exceed the audio needs of gaming enthusiasts. Featuring hi-definition 24-bit audio at 100 dB DNR, it has the ability to drive studio-grade headphones of up to 300 ohms of impedance. When connected to a PC or Mac, it has the ability to handle discrete 7.1 channel input and offer up to 7.1 surround sound virtualization as well as the iconic Sound Blaster Acoustic Engine. Users can look forward to an elevated gaming audio experience that far surpasses the default audio standard on PC, Mac or gaming consoles.

Surge Ahead of the Game
Sound Blaster G3 also comes equipped with the latest GameVoice Mix feature, specially designed to make in-game chats seamless and hassle-free. This feature allows users to freely adjust the game audio and chat volume with a conveniently-located scroll wheel to achieve the perfect balance without disrupting the gameplay.

On top of that, users gain an edge with the custom-tuned Footsteps Enhancer, a customizable EQ that helps to pinpoint the opponent's location in clinching the crucial win in first-person shooter games. There are also EQ profiles customized for popular games, including Fortnite, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Overwatch.

Optimized for Functionality and Convenience
Making audio adjustments on Sound Blaster G3 is a breeze for console gamers, with on-the-fly controls that can be made remotely with the Sound Blaster Command mobile app available for iOS and Android, without the need to unplug or exit the gaming console screen. Pairing it via Bluetooth, gamers can use their mobile phones like a remote control and easily access the volume and mic controls, saved EQ settings and even perform firmware updates. On PC and Mac, the Sound Blaster Command desktop app serves up the comprehensive and fully customizable suite of playback and recording options that Sound Blaster users are accustomed to.

Audio controls are also conveniently located at the sides, making adjustments simple with just one hand. Sound Blaster G3 is powered entirely via USB-C and comes with a USB-A adapter for added convenience..

The Sound Blaster G3 is priced at US $59.

You've been here for nine years and you still haven't learnt to spot the "Press release" tag at the top of some news posts? Those are always posted verbatim.

Laughing with you, not at you...

This is a good move for Creative. I like it. Might have to buy a few of these for testing.

Got your pills? Your statement towards me does not make any sense, or you didn't know how to quote the right man.

So... your post was meant as a reply to the posts above? Nothing in the post itself indicates this, and if you read it without knowing that, it reads as a critique of the news post (particularly as you do deign to mention the author of the news post). Perhaps phrase yourself a bit more clearly next time?

Why does Creative thinks that everybody is only using crappy stereo Headsets when playing games??? I have a 5.1 Home Theater and just use plain old HDMI for a connection to TV. However the effects are garbage, so I would prefer an external SB to get some proper 3D sound...

HDMI is digital, the way the game audio is intended. The only way thats going to be low quality is if the problem is with your sound setup.

You mean like the Sound Blaster x3 USB external 7.1 discrete channel sound card?

Yes, all modern consoles support at least 5.1 over USB. The XBO, PS4 and NS all support 7.1 if games offer it.
The XB360, PS3 and WiiU all supported 5.1 over USB.

The XBO does support the audio over USB standard, which includes 5.1 support at minimum.

Did you read the article? There is no Xbox mentioned. It has USB audio, but you have to PAY to unlock it. Where did I say otherwise?

Look at the asked question and Ryan answers it.

Hold on. USB audio in 5.1, how about HDMI? Is it 5.1 or 7.1 ?

You mean like the Sound Blaster x3 USB external 7.1 discrete channel sound card?

Looks like this one also doesn't.... no Xbone mention either...

They do have other external sound cards too (can be pricey) but for multichannel sound on a console they need to use Dolby Digital TOSLINK, which doesn't seem to be what you need for your setup.

I'm still using an X-Fi Titanium on my computer as until the X3 came out it was the last card to have 7.1 discrete speakers and I've also not heard anything better than CMSS-3D for headphone positional audio.
