Performance increase?? it just seems thats gpu_z is not reading your crossfire. Try the link i gave you, the lastest 027 version of gpu-z.

It's also showing the pci-e 16x slot @ 4x. What games/benchies are you trying that you aren't seeing a performance increase for?

I have a P35 chipset...that card is supposed to run at 4x. 3Dmark06, CoD4, ATITool cube, Crysis, everything I have.

My point was once it is clarified that crossfire is working performance won't be much more then a single card in that case. HD48xx series seems to be extremely bandwidth hungry. Using 3dmark06 as a simple comparison, moving my whole setup from my x38 board to my p35 board drops 2500k points. This rig actually started on the p35 board until that techreport article, however right or wrong it may be, I saw a measurable difference as well not only in 3dmark06.

Crysis you won't see much of/if any performance increase from CF, unless you start pumping AA up.

hmmm, motherboard issue i see, and crossfire doesnt work in Crysis unless if you dick around with some files(i think the fix is on here somewere, 4got were i found it.

also, i see ur using a 620watt psu, you mabey be short on power, just a tad

Yes most deff short if power no questions there, I had a Silverstone 750 watt sometime ago with 2x8800gtxs and it blew up because they couldnt give the cards enough juice. not sure if this would help but it sure aint getting enough juice.

No way its the PSU, these Corsairs have been known to run 2x2900XT's in crossfire.

No longer need help, I only had the card for an hour, then had to put it into my bud's rig. he bought the card, but his mobo wasn't in yet, so I was like "Ooooooo, gimme gimme!"

No, 2900XT's use more power than 4870's...according to W1zz's review, the 2900XT averages at 50W higher.

But I have a 4850, they are not as hard on power, and my PSU can handle two.
