Just bit the bullet after frustrations with my pc...
HDD failure / or mobo failure...

SO fug it, I replaced them both.

Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1 2.5" 64gb on the way.

Granted I will not utilize the Sata 6gbs right now but soon enough I will.

Anyone have the C300?

I have one, I love it
I bought a 20 dollar SATA III controller, and i saw minimal gains (although i have a somewhat old system that's prob. bottle necked elsewhere)

I recommend it highly

The C300 is incredibly fast in RAID 0, especially the READ times. The write times of the drive I don't like so much but your system will be doing more reads than writing.

I know this is a day old, but you've made an error in your logic.

The bad ssd controllers were made by Jmicron.

The C300 is made by Crucial (parent company Micron, no J) and they use Marvell controllers, which are some of the fastest available. The C300 is a good drive.

But that said, the A-Data drive you ended up getting is Sandforce based, so you'll still have a great drive.

Crucial RealSSD C300 in RAID 0 is blazing fast I think I may order 2 of these eventually to replace my single Sandforce drive

Edit: I think I am going to wait for the new Sandforce controllers.

C300 installed great, just wanted to update firmware from 002 to 006.
Having issues with my P5N-D 750i, wish I would have known the nvidia chips dont support AHCI.

this is what crucial recommends on their website to boot update from DVD.
I created the dvd and tried to boot from it, it would not boot just loaded windows. Wondering if I had a bad boot disc?
