The developers have noted that crysis will be higher detailed and look better on the pc. So i don't think its exactly a port.

That depends on what you think a port is. Some people go bananas as soon as a game is released for both PC and console even if the "port" is awesome. Me, I can live with porst as long as they're playable.

I don't see anything bad in ports as such. Developing games is a pricey bussines, and developing the same game twice is retarded. And it's not so wierd that they make them with mainly consoles in mind as that's where the profit is.

This is why PC is a better platform as it keeps moving forward and gets better . were as console games stay stagnant for years the PC world has been moving forward . But hey what do I know they make tons of cash with console games so yeah they are going to make that there main stay . We get all the new fast hardware With some Killer games to play one them , So it aint a total loss and I can have eyefinaty and 160FPS while the console is slow and stuck at 30fps LOL !
And a port is a port as long as it plays my game !

I've always looked at a port as being built on a console dev kit, and then having the code altered to work with pc. Crytek is developing each simultaneously. They were using a piece of software that showed real time graphical changes across the consoles and pc.

"The PC version of Crysis 2 is by no means a console port"

Confirmed by staff on mycrysis.com , I was whinning because of fishy smell , and "creative constrains" article that put me ever worried when crytek announced NY setting , and seems like it's PC 100% , but how will it play is another thing.

Since mycrysis.com got dumbed down to a very basic worse than xbox-live looking portal(tehnically too , you can't edit a post), im not longer visiting the official website, it just stinks of consolized smell all round.

i hope this thing was not a console port.

come on crytec don't disappoint us, and push the requirement so we will have a reason to buy that ridiculous hardware,
