Crysis lag on upgrading from Vista x86 to Win 7 x64

Well shut my mouth ! Thank you ! Getting it now . also I reinstalled crysis and it is now working great just don't update and every thing is fine .

i have no problems with it.... except sometimes it doesnt launch in 64bit... or 32bit... or it will hang on the loading screen... doesnt run in dx9 at all...

I'm curious to know how you made it run? Mine doesn't even launch in 32 or 64. Did you do something particular? I've tried compatibility mode and still doesn't work.

Well I just reinstalled it with out updating the game for me it is working great . Finaly got it to run on my setup and installing warhead just to see if all them updates aren't what was the issue . But so far so good need to know where to get the benchmark program for crysis .

Here in lies the fault with the standard belief that if you upgrade your OS, your games will run better.
Games are like pc's.
10 of em with the same config running side by side, run 10 different ways.
Games do the same thing.

DX10 was so screwy they made dx11.
I count on nothing to be as good as they say anymore.

I agree .
Even after installing the games and they play I had to update them and well now the back wheels are missing on the Hummer . just goes to show how well things are made .

Never blindly listen to what people tell you about PSUs. Everyone thinks that CoolerMaster is crap, or that 600Watts isn't enough, blah blah blah. A system like yours will see maybe 350Watts of full load with a 5850 installed, after overclocking.

Look at the power consumption results for yourself:

Hardware jocks always want you to run on like twice the power that you actually need... and you've actually got that with your PSU.

Got to agree there. I myself have a CM psu (got it as a gift from my gf). Thought it was crap but its still going strong for a year now. I aint saying that cheap psu brands are the thing but its not just corsair or whatever that makes good psu's.

Crysis has to be the most badly optimized game in human history..
There is no existing computer in the world that runs crysis well.
I call bull*&# on anyone who says they run crysis perfectly..lol

Also I'm curious what updates you didn't install.
windows 7 updates from windows updates?
just getting windows 7 64 myself and I'd sure like to know..lol.

Me too, I have a feeling crytek's games don't adapt well to new os'es. Running farcry on win7 was a real pain in the *ss. I had to run it on 1024*768, everything on low to make it run, if I put in on a higher res, it just goes white. Consider that and a 10+ year old clive barker's undying which runs fine on win7, just proves me its just BS.

I just tried farcry to see how it handles 1920x1080 and its still awesome maxxed out.I still love that game,they screwed it with crysis,but then again farcry when it came out was epic so how could they top that.

The saddest part of farcry to me, was when I bought farcry 2... *tears*
what a piece of garbage..
The laziest mechanics I have seen in a long time.
I am reminded of those little web page games you always see.
with a hand extended, shooting a gun.
That has one simple animation tied to it, that just looks bad in all senses of the word..

hey i have just installed windows 7 x64 and before i had vista 32 bit.

so i heard that win 7 had more gaming performance than win vista? am i right?

but besides that, i have 3 gigs of ram more now but still dont see ANY performance improvements on ANY games. and crysis even at lower FPS than earlier at vista. but thing like loading and surfing DO go faster. whats up with the gaming?
had round 30 fps 1680 * 1050 all very high 0x AA
but now i have round 25 fps!!! same settings.

windows 7 64bit is faster than vista 64bit... both on same spec rig

windows 7 32bit is faster than windows vista 32bit

generally windows 7 is faster than vista.


ofcourse windows 7 64bit is slower than vista 32bit when gaming on same spec rig. 64bit os needs lots of ram to be smooth on gaming.


your problem is not video card. your problem is 64bit os on a not enough ram amount.

windows 7 64bit 6gb ram is faster than vista 32bit 3gb ram

vista 32bit 3gb ram is faster than windows 7 64bit 3gb ram

if you think im wrong then sorry im stupid.

Hey i have 6gb ram.... And the only game where it runs slower is at crappy crysis, so RAM is not the problem. And it became just a bit faster lately. At a heaven benchmark i did last week i got 48.1 FPS 1680 1050 all on max 4xaf 0aa. And last time i did was yesterday and i got 51.8 fps at same setting.
