CS:GO RIP 2012-2018

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is now free-to-play, and featuring a new battle royale mode.

Anyone who bought CS:GO will receive a badge and automatically update to Prime status.

The game will soon be swarmed with cheaters.

I don't play CS (the latest for me was CS:Source), but it already happened to several of my favorite online shooters.
Guess I'll have to install it now and make a nostalgic run before it turns into Team Fortress: The Hat Simulator.

Let's just ignore the fact that for the past half year or longer Valve has been giving more and more care to CS:GO. We've already gotten a big update in Panorama (aka first Source 2 CS:GO integration) this year, for a game that came out in 2012. They've been steadily improving VAC behind the scenes with a mix of AI and Overwatch. People have reported that Prime has been mostly cheater and even troll free as long as you're not a shitty community member yourself because of Trust Factor. I've tracked my own games and seen the blatant cheaters get banned.

The game continues to improve and we get free content updates (basically a whole different game with the BR addition) for a 6 year old game most people paid $10 for; but guess that's not good enough. It takes less effort to just throw out baseless accusations like cheaters taking over so the community will just keep degrading as people making these claims ask "Why is this community getting worse?!?".

CS Go is one of the worst purchases I have made. I got talked into buying it out of some nostalgia for original Counter Strike (1.6) by some old high school buddies.

Played 2 games of BR last night with my friends, definitely feels very different from usual gameplay, little weird haha.

I will reserve judgement for now, just waiting for the early changes that will inevitably come.

Overall I'm just very happy that Valve still has big plans for this game

Not sure if that is different in your country, but.........here it doesn't appear to be an overwhelming majority, or a majority at all even. In fact, it's a minority.

We used to do a glitch in Source Beta where we'd throw the Deagle down, hold the shield up and pick up the Deagle and it would give you this invulnerability state where you could shoot through the shield but to other players you were not holding the shield up. It was insanely OP.

The game needs a modern replacement from Valve. Just doesn't seem likely Valve is interested in making such a game anymore. Maybe they're fine with letting R6: Siege take over.

I downloaded it last night having seen this thread, seems the cheaters are in already, aimbots were rife, I mean I know some players are just genuinely good but I could almost see the 190 degree turn of the weapon in the millisecond before I got head shot by the same guy like 10 times in the game.

That was the reason why 2 years ago after 30 minutes i bought the Game i quitted

too many head shots and i couldn't fight back

CS was always plagued by cheaters. And now, they can create new accounts everytime they get banned.

I played today just see what's going on, competitive is somehow OK, but other game modes are full of cheaters.

So, i have deleted CS:GO from my SSD. Probably going to download CS:Source instead. They have totally ruined CS:GO. Even UI is so ugly that it made my eyes bleed.

There many times that cheating is obvious. But a lot of it is out of sync animations, poor net code, etc. In many games friends and I are not seeing the same animations our players are doing or our players are glitching out and floating when they really out aren't.

A good friend of mine plays deathmatch on CS:GO.

Recently, he started cheating since everybody else does. Told me every server has at least 2 cheaters.



Took them 2 weeks to ban him... and it took him 2 minutes to register a new account.

He was banned by overwatch. His cheat is still undetected by VAC.

So the devs of Counterstrike never bothered to add any half functional anti cheating software?
I mean Battlefields typically are not awesome, bu you don't run into cheaters all the time.
