Hey, how are you, in my opinion through experience and i got in contact with my Micron/Crucial Supplieer, both BX500 500GB and BX5000 1TB and 2TB have a higher probability of coming with QLC Dies, for example my BX500 500GB which they send to review came with 2 packages, and each package had 2 Micron N48R 176-Layers 1Tb dies. Which are quite slow compared to QLC Dies, so my suggestions, try picking up the 960GB or 480GB

The BX500 series lacks a DRam cache and as a result is very slow compared to SSDs with dram like the MX500. Just as a second game drive that would be okay, but virtualization will be severely hampered:

That drive though seems to be using Micron's N28A 96-L QLC drives, but unfortunately we can't know for sure 100% since each firmware can be compatible with multiple die types, so just getting a Flash ID report to know. But for those scenarios, i'd recommend another drives

If you lack storage, sure. There are better drives but as long as its cheap yeah go for it.

And since it's Virtualbox Win7 I assume you're not doing anything really intense with it.

This being the case, absolutely go for it. I run one at work as a sole local drive and the improvement over HDD is impressive.

Don't keep anything too important on it though, unless you do regular backups.
