I would either pick up a 9900k and just drop it into your system or wait for Zen 3.

Coming from an 8086k the 3700X/3800X don't really make any sense but I feel the 3900X is definitely worth the extra $100 over the 3800X if you must spend your hard earned money on something.

But it's more or less because I am really curious for trying AMD Zen 2 myself as I wrote to begin but it's still an arguement that splits me because I think it might satisfy my curiosity in the long term because it's like I need something new and want to try something new and not gonna go RTX anyway it's eye candy yes do I need it? No my GTX 1080 Ti FE Hybrid does the job fine for 1440p with my monitor.

If it's just to play with then I would want the 3900x i think. It's such a groundbreaking chip, 4.6Ghz boost and 2 CCX, double the cache vs 3800x -- and not much more expensive than the 3800x either.

The 3900X I think makes more sense that the 3800X.
General I think that 3600, 3700X, 3900X are the real choises, and 3600X/3800X are not worth it so much. Still are great chips, but with less value than the first three I mentioned.

3900X is not really in stock anywhere expect overprice sadly there is one online store here that looks like they have the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with the Prism in stock but then I looked closer and it's the Tray version and they don't clearly specific that :mad:

They just show it like this with green text saying "In stock! Ready to be shipped":

Then clicking on and look at the model it's "Ryzen 9 3900X (tray)"

Lol in the accessories they list that the "sales box" contains the Ryzen 9 3900X Tray without box and Wraith Prism cooler :roll:

Thankfully CPU prices are veey reasonable in my country. USD exchanges for 85 or so here and CPU prices are usually 90 per USD MSRP. Only 1st gen Ryzen were 110+ per dollar but the importer got gobsmacked by the community.

Only sadness is for GPUs. Usually 100+ per USD still. Though Colorful and Zotac are quite competitive atm. Total sadness for Radeon cards though. Sapphire Pulse is 109 per USD for example.

I been looking around but at the moment I am unable to find any AMD Ryzen 9 3900X in stock maybe someone know a shop in Germany or The UK where there is stock not for the £800.

I saw one retailer list the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X for about £1211/1511USD but that must be a mistake

They are sold out and it was a tray version only 2 years local warranty none from AMD as a consumer.

No, I got a AIO for it but tray for the same price or more I rather have a retail with better warranty. But the tray is also out of stock.

I don't have the time or patience anymore for testing OC stability I have too much work and other stuff taking my time so the little gaming I do and more converting I need a stable system the more cores like 12 cores would help here.

I was also a bit too late making the final deciding going on that Tray version because it happened before I seen Tray version that was originally OEM's which means that it's shit with warranty.

Instead of doubling your core count from 6 to 12 cores how about a 8 core Ryzen such as the 3700X or 3800X? Should have a easier time finding those for sale. Since you would already have the board for the 3800X you could later swap for a 3900X or 3950X.

They ain't on sale and the 3800X is in stock.

I heard a rumour about here is a good chunk of 3900X's in Japan I don't know if that's true or not maybe that's where the latest shipment went instead of EU and US.
