If you play the game today you will see that nothing changed in this aspect
I played GTAV two days ago. I played CP2077 last week. You were saying?

No one is saying that CP2077's NPC AI is perfect. However, to compare to almost any other game out there and call it poor is a load something coming out of the south end of a northbound cow, which is what you've been trying, and failing, to do. So do us, and yourself, a favor and stop shoveling the poopoo about.

Watching a video edited by a youtuber does not compare to playing the game yourself. Speaking of: have you played it?

I haven't heard anything, but knowing GDPR, I suspect any future GOTY release will be given out free to those who own the game. If you want to play the game, I'd suggest putting it on your wish list and buying it on a discount. ;)

Yes, he edited the physics on GTA, Mafia and Cyberpunk, he (they actually) are amazing at editing games.

That's not the point. The point is, your perspective changes when you actually play the game. You become less focused on the minor nuances, like what your shadow is doing on the bottom of the ocean, or how your character is animated when you get out of a car. You become more focused on what makes a game a game, like the story, or the atmosphere. Videos can't replicate what it feels like to actually play a game. That's why you can post a hundred videos about the game, they're still just videos unable to capture what the game is really like, therefore they're irrelevant. If you have a couple of hours of gameplay on your account, and didn't like it, fair play. As for video comparisons, sorry, I'm not interested. Not to mention, comparing two games is altogether irrelevant. If CDPR wanted to make a GTA-clone, they would have probably called the game something like GTA: Night City, and not Cyberpunk 2077.

The problem isn't that some really specific and insignificant feature is missing compared to some old ass game or even the bugs. Things take a turn for the worse when you look at the big picture, cyberpunk is just too pedestrian and run of the mill, there is nothing in it that feels new/fresh/innovative or whatever you wanna call it. It's just an amalgamation of every mainstream take on an open world game from the last decade meant to appeal to as big of an audience as possible.

If it wasn't for CDPR's popularity or the negative press at launch this game would have surely fallen into obscurity by now never to be heard from again. It's not a bad game, it's just too plain and forgettable.

I think you're right. And yet.... the game does TRY to get a characteristic face as it goes, doesn't it? There is an overarching idea of the dystopian future we could be heading towards, there are many small things that link it to the current day-to-day. The way those medical teams are deployed is a small example. The lack of interaction beyond getting pushed away from police or enforcers is another. Its just that most of those things are in the game as things you 'can't' do. They're not expanded upon. You don't get into them. There is no way to enlist as police, for example, and see the world from another perspective. You're just you, the dude doing the story and some side missions in a dystopian future, and getting succumbed by it really. Perhaps that's all the game wanted to give.

No, I love proving people wrong WAAAAAY more, especially when they're being dinks about it!:rockout:
EDIT;
I greatly enjoy helping people get correct info so they can be better and more accurately informed. This is less proving someone wrong so much as it's just helping them get a more clear view of the facts.

Was this thread intended to be for an argument about bugs?
Perhaps not, but as bugs and glitches seem to be a source of angst for people, is seems prudent to address these points to set the record straight and disprove misinformation.

I think that's exactly how the game should be looked at. :) From this point of view, it makes perfect sense why you can't interact with random people on the street (in a gamery language: why there are no NPC random events): just think how much random interaction you have in a real city while going from point A to point B. Personally, I'd say none. To me, random faceless NPCs in Night City are just as dead as random faceless people in a real city, and in that sense, the game does a great job portraying how empty it feels to walk up and down in a modern city full of people.

You being less focused doesn't make a fact a fact. And i think you mean get used to it. Because the focus is what is the problem, this details are the thing the breaks the focus from what the game does best. Breaks the immersion.
Also comparing physics is not comparing the games, it´s comparing the pshysics.

Facts are one thing, how much you enjoy playing the game (or not) is another. A game is meant to be a device of entertainment, not an objective measure of competition to another game.

Like you just said: the focus is the problem. If you're focused on the minor nuances, then you're bound to dislike the game even before you start playing it. On the other hand, if you're focused on the story and atmosphere of the game, a little wonkiness in the physics engine won't break your immersion and you'll end up having a positive experience. This is what videos can't replicate, and that's why I'm saying that you have to play the game to form a well-made opinion about it.

I do agree. I think we're being too lenient if we say that people clipping through assets, assets being placed in weird places (the underwater cat by the car, for example... dafuq) and just simply gameplay elements not working towards a wholesome game experience (such as the totally weird RPG progression, clearly no balance pass over it, crafting being totally unusable, the list is almost endless... up to and including a simple typo at literally EVERY interactive terminal in the game) are not immersion breakers (Devilery boxes... I mean... language barrier sure, but to copy that across the entire game? Pfew).

They are. And they do break immersion. But in the end its up to the individual player to make a fuss about it. I'll tell you, the number of glitchy stuff in games I've seen is near infinite. Triple A games, B games, offline or online... bugs are everywhere. If you let that distract you as an individual player from the beauty of those same games, you're really missing out on A LOT of legendary game experiences.

Simple examples... Fallout 3, Skyrim. Bugs... up to complete crashing the whole time, but games almost nobody would dare to miss, if you consider the time they got released. Everyone knows them. The bugs and the games, the mods and the crashes. And yet, it gets 3 remasters because of the great sales.

Gaming is not a bug free, problem free experience - its an experience. And you build upon your own experience - its entirely subjective whether or not you find your immersion in a game. Speaking from 20+ years of that experience... savor every drop of true immersion you can find. Its a unique and special thing and it won't last forever ;)

You do realize that this is basically one texture, right?
I always had the impression that this was intentional play on words, not a typo.
Edit: Well, also (whether that is correct or not):

It is.

Okay. LOL. Well... in a game full of oopsies, it doesn't come across as such :)

And yes, ofc its one texture, that is why I was so surprised by it.

Very, very well said. Too many armchair observers don’t get this concept.

Was this thread intended to be for an argument about bugs?
Nope, it’s supposed to be a thread about the game and playing the game. As the thread starter, I recommend if all people can do is argue and bitch then maybe a closure is in order as there is no gameplay to discuss. Let someone open up a 2077 Bitchfest Thread. It’s a shame really, because I’ve never seen an official game thread closed and don’t want to see this one closed.

Every minuscule complaint doesn’t need to be responded to. With no one to constantly correct them on their many misconceptions and misperception, there is no argument to be had.

As the OP you have certain rights. I'll happily draw a line and ask that all conversation going forward from here is a constructive critique or discussion of gameplay, scenarios, or other themes that you'd expect in a thread about a game that folk enjoy playing (regardless of bugs) and would like to discuss.

If people don't like the game - don't come here to crap all over it. <-- Moderator fore-warning.

No, I love proving people wrong WAAAAAY more, especially when they're being dinks about it!:rockout:
EDIT;
I greatly enjoy helping people get correct info so they can be better and more accurately informed. This is less proving someone wrong so much as it's just helping them get a more clear view of the facts.

Perhaps not, but as bugs and glitches seem to be a source of angst for people, is seems prudent to address these points to set the record straight and disprove misinformation.
What misinformation ?!
This game has type of bugs that I haven't seen since the first 3d games came out trying to figure out object boundaries and some other basic stuff.
The physics is so bad to a point that its entertaining and playing the game is like watching bug compilation just one bug after another.
The graphics are not as nearly as good to justify the system requirements.
All around unfinished product.

That said I still payed the game through and it was Okay.

I should mention - I'm not this sub-forum's moderator so all I can do is reply ban and give out points.

I think we've covered the discussions about bugs. Go back and read through if you've not caught up.

But please, game discussion. You know, about the gameplay etc.

I'm looking forward to the expansion, and seeing if they will pickup the story from the ending and how the story will continue depending on the different choices the player had for the ending; I also eventually want to replay the game and try for the solo ending, I missed the prerequisites for it in my first playthrough.
