R9 Fury doesn't get enough credit these days.
GTX 780 3GB on minimum means 7970 may be able to do decently.
I wonder how slower stuff does (smaller Kepler and Maxwell 1.0).

Looks like nonsense. Recommended GFX card GTX 1060? Check out current AAA's with the performance of that card.

Recommended hardly ever means maxed out settings. In some cases it’s 1080p@30 at high settings.

My guess would be 1080p@60 medium-ish high.

R9 fury? what an odd choice of GPU, it's not a very common card these days, in theory a 570 should suffice as it's almost around 1060 level performance with the 580 almost touching 1070 in 2020. Personally i'm happy to see a 2020 AAA title that isn't 100GB+ with my measly DL speed of around 4.5MB/s

Who's going to have 12GB of RAM with a 4790k or a 3200g class of processor? I would think it should be 8GB or 16GB if 8GB truly isn't enough for recommended settings, 12GB just seems odd, as does the fury R9, wouldn't be surprised if these were fake, also for minimum you're looking at Win7/10 x64 DX12 but for recommended you need Win 10 x64, yea, doesn't seem legit at all tbh though I could imagine the recommended specs being close to that maybe a tad higher in some respects

i don't think your "theory" is accurate. 570 would be around the 970 4GB in performance while the 580 and 1060 are in the same ballpark, neither being close to the 1070

I'm talking 4 years after release and with driver updates, there have been reviews done in 19/20 with 580/1060 class cards and the 580 is quite a bit ahead in most modern titles compared to them being roughly around the same performance maybe with an edge to the 1060 when they were new GPU's, it's no surprise really, the same can be said for AMD and their counterparts going back maybe 4-5 gens and the current performance of AMD is nearly always ahead of it's NV counterpart which might not have been the case when they were released.

four years after release? In April 2021 the AMD 580 will be as fast as the nvidia 1070? Here's the TPU gaming suite performance chart from August 2020. 1070 still offers 30% performance over the AMD 580. What driver is going to improve performance by 30% across a suite of games in the next few months?

I'm not going to keep arguing the toss with you, I'm pretty sure W1zz doesnt review every single GPU in his database again with the latest drivers when he reviews a new card, stop dragging the thread OT and go and use google for yourself, that wasn't even the main point of my post yet here we are 5-6 messages later.

Just checked in the GoG store and they have the same reqs listed there.

Fairly lower than what I expected, good to know that if I wanted to I could play the game somewhat on my current system. 'I don't really plan on playing the game this year tho'

Edit:
https://support.cdprojektred.com/en...issue/1556/cyberpunk-2077-system-requirements

Please note that the game is both graphics- and processor-intensive, so make sure these components meet or exceed the minimum requirements. Also note that the minimum is created with Low settings and 1080p gaming in mind and Recommended with High and 1080p.

I'm pretty sure W1zz doesnt review every single GPU in his database again with the latest drivers when he reviews a new card
Actually if you read one of his reviews you would see he does in fact test every one of those cards with the latest drivers as this is verbatim from that August 2020 5600XT review (posted above).

AMD: Radeon 20.2.2 WHQL
NVIDIA: 442.19 WHQL

  • All games and cards are tested with the drivers listed above—no performance results were recycled between test systems. Only this exact system with exactly the same configuration is used.
  • All graphics cards are tested using the same game version
The AMD drivers were released 3-05-2020 and the Nvidia drivers 2-03-2020. So either W1zzard is a time traveling wizzard (could be possible) or he really did review the cards "with the latest drivers when he reviews a new card"

Actually, W1zz DOES review all the reference versions of every card he keeps and runs all tests with the latest drivers for each card. So much for your “I’m sure W1zz doesn’t...”

@dirtyferret lol, you beat me to it. Apparently I need to start going to the ends of threads first before I respond.

Hats off to W1zzard then, I stand corrected, still the 580 has matured better than the 1060 since release and has improved with driver versions, granted on the overall chart that only stands at 7% but it's still nevertheless a swing of 10+% to the 580 comparing it to the 1060 when they were new cards, again, wasn't the whole point of my post but I'm glad you feel the need to be so touchy about it, as you where girls. That said, AMD driver development for older cards is well known to be better than nvidias, take the 9 series that dropped off a cliff after the 10 series, I guess it was just a little point I was making but it's always got to turn into a fanboy thing, I'ma just leave this here, 580 within spitting distance of a 1070 in a lot of new titles tested in 2019, was all I was saying, no fanboy war needed :slap:

I just hope someone makes a 3rd person option view, because no way I'm spending 60 or 50 bucks for that sort of game that doesn't even provide a 3rd person view option to switch too, all that character creation/customization is pointless. Not sure what the hell the devs are thinking.

As for the specs , i should be ok, w5500 radeon pro , xeon 2678 v3, 16GB ddr4.

Nah, a potato is way weaker than that. My GTX760 is starting to fall into potato territory. It manages Outer Worlds on high though..

As for the specs , i should be ok, w5500 radeon pro , xeon 2678 v3, 16GB ddr4.

Well, I've started The outer Worlds recently and it's the same there and I kinda like how they haven't implemented a 3rd person view. Whenever I accidentally zoom out in other games it reminds me I'm in a game.

That said, AMD driver development for older cards is well known to be better than nvidias, take the 9 series that dropped off a cliff after the 10 series,

I have seen this argument before and I'm honestly perplexed by it, because it would mean Nvidia is sabotaging the performance of previous generation cards when new generations come out. Which would be grounds for lawsuits.

DX12 saved the day for older systems. Vulkan could help more but even this is more than OK. And game size isn't too bad.

From what I understand windows 7 does not support full features of DX12. Vulkan on the other hand does, Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
