Project Rainfall anyone (though I may be inaccurate with the name)?
Apparently some petitions do work, but given the tiny niche and low profits this is likely not going to do squat.
The online petitions do very little, unless they become a huge success or have some extenuating circumstances. I'm still waiting for new Firefly, Megas XLR, and the US politicians to put SOPA in the bureaucratic Hell that it deserves. Assuming that this was a Wii exclusive, and Nintendo had f*** all else to release, then a petition might help. As it stands, this is a pipe dream.
Best of luck, I'm not getting my hopes up.
Edit: For those not in the know, Rainfall sought to get Xenoblade and a hand full of titles ported from Japan. The titles already had local language translation, because European market had them ported. Nintendo of America sat on its hands, until the fans got irate and they had to provide the port or risk fan backlash. All of this came when Nintendo is slowing down new game release, presumably in preparation for the launch of their next console. Apparently, no games and no love make your consumers angry. Who'd have thought that...<sarcasm>?
