In spite of some poor reviews from the likes of IGN, many consider Days Gone as a highly underrated game and having seen some of the gameplay, I can see why. It looks fantastic and the combination of zombies and bikes really appeals to me - I'm a biker.
I had considered State Of Decay, but never got around to buying it, I've played WWZ a few times but it's mainly coop and a bit repetitive for single player and I finished Dying Light yonks ago. Days Gone seems to have something different from the aforementioned games and I like what I've seen so far.
No surprise that the dev, Bend Studio is based in Bend, Oregon, the very state that the game is set in. That's pretty cool.
I'll be grabbing it next Tuesday when it releases on Steam and Epic.

I have it for the PS4 Pro as well. This was a game I really looked forward to until it released and I read all of the poor reviews. I waited for a year or more before picking it up used at Gamestop for cheap. I'd prefer to play it on PC for sure.

I've just played the first couple of hours and I'm loving it. Great optimisation for PC and it looks stunning, almost like being in Oregon!
The controls are easy to configure with alternative keys, loads of graphic options and with high settings at 1440p, it runs as smooth as silk.
It has many of the the usual game mechanics such as looting stuff and crafting, and the bike control is excellent with a keyboard.
Top marks so far :)

That moment when they don't see the potential to the game... sad :), when I'll be able to assemble new pc this game is number one to play.

And it will work without problems with ps4 dualshock controller, woohoo.

Picking this up today. Had it on PS4 Pro but the input lag was bad and gave up on it, really liked the look and feel of the game though so a PC version is a godsend. Really looking forward to playing through it and glad to hear it's optimised.

Business is business my friend and they've certainly delivered the goods as far as I'm concerned. I'll be uploading a gameplay clip later to show how good the performance is and also how great it looks.

I watched the long 28 minute PC version teaser, all I could think was 'a fuel pump on a motorcycle'?

Depends which bike you ride. Assuming the bikes in-game are Harley lookalikes, they would have fuel pumps.
My twin carb 350cc doesn't have a fuel pump, however. It's a much more basic bike than a Harley :)

Fuel pumps and fuel injection make sense. I've never seen an 883 with a fuel pump. And how could you have a kick start motorcyle with a fuel pump?

Sorry, no idea, but I just upgraded the engine on my in-game bike for faster zombie getaways.

17 1/2 hrs in on the hardest difficulty and I am loving it. It's intense and I'm loving the grind. I'm currently working out strategies for the hordes as on this difficulty you are toast within seconds but it's worth it. Glad I never persevered with the PS4 Pro version as this is far superior and the fluidity/performance is great.

On release maybe, but the game has improved tenfold over time, I played it after alot of fixes. Story and gameplay was great.

Great HDR implementation too. Looked insane on OLED. Not sure I will replay it on PC tho. PS4 Pro did well.

The Last of Us 2 is better tho. Uncharted still my fav PS exclusive, no doubt. A new Uncharted game is the only game that will force me to buy a PS5 at some point.

From the devs guide on Steam, with me hoping it will be that easy :)
Hordes are a formidable foe in Days Gone. They can range from 25 Freakers to 500 Freakers. To take down a horde, you need to strategize, come prepared with ammo, traps and plan an escape route. It will not be easy, but to increase your chances at succeeding follow these couple of tips to begin your path at creating a safer world. Force the Freakers down narrow pathways to jumble them up creating a better line of fire. Use attractors to throw at nearby flammable crates and barrels to lure a group of them to that spot, then blow it up. Park your bike close in case you need to run back to it to fill up your ammo from your saddlebags (can be equipped as an upgrade).

Woo hoo 22.2 hrs in and I've now taken down my first horde. Stamina was the key, I just kept running like a man possessed crafting molotovs and tossing them behind me......great visuals though and hilarious to the casual onlooker :)

Best game I've played in a while, throwing myself headfirst into the hardest difficulty was the key I think as strategies and ammo/supplies have to be utilised to the max.

Fuel injection is impossible without a fuel pump.

I've ridden a GSX-R1000 and FZR 1000 -- neither of them had fuel pumps. I've also ridden XR-650's, XR-250's, XR-350's and CR-500's, none of them had fuel pumps.
