Dead Rising 2 is an upcoming survival horror video game. It is being developed in partnership with Dead Rising developer Capcom by Blue Castle Games, and will be distributed by Capcom. The original Dead Rising team members have returned to create the game, including Keiji Inafune, head of Research & Development at Capcom. Originally set to be released in the beginning of 2010, the game's release has been pushed back to September 28th in North America. [1] The European release is scheduled for September 24th for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and September 28th for PC.[3]

Here is a gameplay video showing some nasty ways to kill zombies - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=youNA9-Hd54

Anyone played the first one because this one is coming to PC and i thinks it looks sweet :)

he's the creator of them right, so technically you are correct ;P his recent work involves slow zombies. but his most recent work (Survival of the Dead, 2010) actually does go back to the slow zombies. its odd how refreshing that is, honestly.

The first one was OK, but it was plagued by often and long load times. Still, fun as hell to mow down zombies with a lawn mower.

I had more fun playing the first Dead Rising than I did playing L4D2. All that was missing from the first was multiplayer. The first one had tons of ways to kill zombies, and the photo exp thing they had going on was something new :D I think it was a challenge to save as many people as possible too.

Probably will pick this up on PS3 if I can find a good deal.

Dead Rising 2 is great fun. Im playing it on the 360 and enjoying it. Are you guys playing the right game? :D

Some are are moaning about the zombies being slow.....BUT......could you imagine trying to play the game if EVERY zombie on screen (which seems like a thousand at any one time!) ran at you, 'Dawn Of The Dead' remake style?!?! You wouldnt stand a f*cking chance!!

If its a console port, yeah, be upset that yet again another PC title is ruined. But dont knock the game solely because of it.

I'm not knocking cause of that. The game just ain't for me personally. The only thing I thought was cool was the plethora of zombies that can't even touch you as you run past them and the crafting of custom weapons. Other than that I'm not even compelled to continue playing this game.

Why are there people commenting bad things about the game on PC? It isn't even out yet unless you've pirated it. I suggest you guys do some research and make sure the game you're talking about IS ACTUALLY Dead Rising 2, else it gives people the wrong impressions.

Anyway I'm a big fan of the Zombie Genre, me and my mates have mowed down L4D2 and L4D and tracing all the way back to the RE genre on PS1, this game looks promising to me. Plus there is no reason to complain of a console port, CAPCOM has ported DMC 4, RE5, Street Fighter IV etc. Flawlessly, can't expect much less from this one.

I play with friends btw so my perspective is Co-op campaign and multiplayer.

BTW there are two versions on the XBOX 360: Dead Rising 2: Case Zero <--- which is an older crappier ver. and then just Dead Rising 2 which is yet to released on PC but was recently released on console 2 days ago

Actually, your wrong m8. Dead Rising 2, the FULL retail game was leaked on the net 2 days ago. Dead Rising - Case Zero is a prequel type 'premium' demo that was made to wet the appetite of XBOX360 owners (its made with the same engine as DR2). They are also releasing another chapter for 400MS points (like Case Zero was), called Dead Rising - Case West (starring Frank West from the original Dead Rising).

Case Zero is in no way an 'older crappier version' of anything, its very recent (and VERY good).

Dead Rising - Case Zero, Dead Rising 2 & Dead Rising - Case West (still to be released) may not be everyones cup of tea. But Ive completed Case Zero, been playing Dead Rising 2 on/off for a week or so and Im loving it :D

Picked up DR2 yesterday for my Xbox 360, I loved the first one and it was the first 360 title I played back in 2006. I'm loving the fact that they have kept the core of the game similar but tweaked it. Graphics are improved (although the framerate does drop every now and again, its no game breaker) It still retains the dark humour of the first and as always the psycho bosses are made with great imagination and personality. My favourite was Adam the clown from DR1.

All in all I'm really enjoying it, the combo weapons are inspired. I'm basically just levelling up Chuck at the moment /building up my cash and then I will be playing through the main story. Then it will be going for a few achievements and trying the online multiplayer and coop campaigns.

The game is great, looks decent and runs great maxed out on my rig, controls are nice(aiming is a little wonky though), and the load times are fairly short(although somewhat frequent). The story line is a little more personal than the last and slightly better told as well. Unfortunately I am not able to play co-op or the TIR mode becuase the game isnt out until the 28th in my area. All in all it has that same Dead Rising feel from the original with more features(excluding the camera mode thingy), and a different color pallet. This is the PC version btw.

Also keep this in mind I ran through it with cheats. :)
Will go through again once its officially out.

Played the first one and although the idea is awesome, the game was mediocre. Retarded AI and crap combat to boot. I played the Case Zero prologue and it felt the exact same, I'll pass on this one.

AI for the survivors is far superior in this game and combat mechanics are improved I feel, you can now move and aim guns simultaneously and some of the combo weapons are friggin awesome. A very fun game so far and although I loved this first one this has beaten it hands down (and I'm only levelling up so far)

When I get a new rig, this will be a must for me.
