Since I never played Dead Space 3 if EA(?) were to remake it or its DLC I would be interested in that. Anyone know if EA(?) has any plans to remake Dead Space 2, Dead Space 3 or the Dead Space 3 DLC?

There has been no such news. I doubt it because it did not sell very well. Dead Space 4 was cancelled because of it. I also doubt Dead Space 2 will see a remake. It can happen but they were not quite as iconic and don't seem to have as big of a following as games like Resident Evil.

DS got a remake in DSR, I'm hoping DS2 gets a remake as well, it did well enough to justify DS3 which, flopped, and flopped hard because they'd changed purchase of upgrades to crafting nonsense, which I'd admit some might enjoy, but it took the fun outta the game for me. IF DS2 gets a remake, I hope DS3 gets a reboot, a totally new adventure with the ever tortured and haunted, but kickbutt, Isaac Clarke.

One thing I don't get about the remake is, why change the character models of just about every character in the game? Isaac Clarke went from a haunted but bada$$ looking dude with 5 o'clock shadow to basically a clean shaven ginger man. And don't get me started on hag Nicole....

Edit - After finishing DSR a couple of times, I'm now playing DS2 in glorious 32:9 aspect ratio, I'm surprised it support that aspect ratio to be honest, much like how an even older game, Enclave, supports 32:9 as well.

Dead Space 3 is more accessible regarding weapons than you're leading on. You're not FORCED to do the weapon crafting, if you play on Classic mode, you only have access to weapons and blueprints found in DS1.

I agree completely on the changing of Isaac's model to that of the voice actor Gunner Wright though. The original one looks like a convincing, seasoned engineer, and the badass we've come to know. With Gunner's likeness he looks like a cheeky, yuppie school boy by comparison. That was the single biggest thing that stood out like a sore thumb to me, you just can't unsee it.

Is the ammunition source for all weapons the same in DS3? So do the line gun and the machine gun/assault rifle both use the same ammunition pool?

Just finished ds3 2 weeks ago and i had it on the ''list'' almost a decade...
suprisingly the game was good, lvl design, story etc..
the only thing that was bad was introduction of multiple weapons blueprints and resources were scarce the whole time
finished the game with fully upgraded shotgun and smg --- worked quite well
i can see that game remastered easily, ofc if ds2 remake sells good

Thanks mobiuus, I was thinking of getting DS3 but have read nothing but bad reviews about it (relative to the rest of the DS series). Did you try the DLC for DS3? Too bad it's not on sale on steam.

Well, I know it's universal ammo when you play the default mode, which has weapon crafting. And I don't think the reason for it was so much a time constraint in the developing of the game as much as a way to make inventory more manageable. You end up picking up weapon parts and such, so if they'd retained specific ammo types for each weapon, you'd quickly run out of space. There's also plenty to keep track of as far as finding weapon parts and circuits, as well as crafting things, so it doesn't really oversimplify the process to have universal ammo like some imply.

I can't speak for Classic mode ammo though because I never played on that mode.

If DS3 has universal ammunition for all weapons it's a hard pass for me.

I have found that many of the bad reviews are vague, and when I suggested things like Classic mode, or asked if they'd played all the dungeons for those whom didn't like the extensive crafting idea or claimed it didn't have enough horror, most would not reply. I got the feeling some of them didn't even play the game and were just going off knee jerk reactions of what others said about it, and others didn't try different modes or play all of it's content .

I played sp only, but got to know it very well. I also played the Awakened DLC many times, so even though I did not play the coop missions, I DID get in a fair bit of action with Carver. There is PLENTY to do and explore in the sp campaign, even without the coop mission areas, but if you are a 100% fanatic, you will need to play with someone to do the coop missions.. The one thing that can get a bit tricky though is keeping track of all collectibles in a given level, because the game rather seamlessly transitions from one chapter to the next. This means you can also pick up some items in one of two chapters, even though they are designated as being in a specific chapter. Collecting items is very important too, especially artifacts and special weapon parts. The weapon parts once you've collected enough resources can be crafted, especially if you dismantle circuits or any resources you aren't using anymore, but entire artifact sets must be collected to be rewarded their +3 circuit sets, and to be allowed to craft +3 circuits. It's worthwhile to read a guide that details what the game rewards you for scavenging certain things and beating certain modes, otherwise the first play through can be frustrating. For example, just beating it on Impossible I think allows you to craft +3 circuits, but only on NG+ as far as I know.

I know that sounds vague, but only because I typically played it from a fresh start. I also did not buy any of the DLC that grants resources or up to 5 scavenger bots. IMO the scavenger bots were fun to find and use, and the 3 of them the game gives you is plenty to get all the resources you need. Definitely get ALL the SCAF artifacts, it's the first set you can collect, and the best. Monitor collectibles while playing each chapter via the menu page that lists them, and if you should miss anything, you can use Chapter Select to replay entire chapters to get them, or even spawn in at key checkpoints within a chapter.

Give dead space 2 and 3 the dead space remake treatment, grab the money and give us dead space 4. Im ready to leave the trilogy story behind and continue Isaac Clarke story or a new protagonist

DITTO!

Sure coz i had awakened also(it is good)... for me it should have been part of the main game but oh we all know about dlc's
p.s. almost forgot what was really BAD --- it was save game system
the game has funny way of manual saving like the old checkpoints but the tricky part comes with loading, made a mistake and loaded much earlier point in the game and still i dont know how i did it
