Dear GOD Trine Temps

My 295 went to 90C !!! This never happened EVER! I've immediately stopped playing Left4Dead sits at about 72C

Trine is that new game in steam, this thread got a little out of topic since Kursah and I share a metal fanaticism, though If you have any though about this weird temps post up

90 degree's is well within the thermal junction for the 295. It's good for upto 105 degree's C. Why not increase the fan speed or add a fan nearby to help with temps.

Yes i know but L4D sits confortably at 74ish, why is that happening?

L4D isn't very gpu intensive.

Trine uses PhysX too, that will stress your GPU more than the CPU driven Havok Physics that L4D uses, and Trine also is heavier in the graphics department than L4D is, even if Trine is a sidescroller. This game is one of the few that I've found I cannot play while folding. That's saying something too.

3D sidescroller is not a border-line 2d, but I can see how you'd jump to that conclusion as I did at first too...really I find it's pretty well executed and is great with the music and speech turned off with some old school metallica running in the background. Brings back the good old days of old nes/snes sidescrollers with a very modern touch and look. One of the best indie games of 2009 imo.

Yes I said that to make my point about being so GPU intesive, i think its a driver/ game issue. This stresses my card more or as much as Crysis

About 51C while running this game, which is my max with folding or Furmark, but my card is a 65nm 216-shader under an AC Accelero Xtreme GTX cooler @ 100% too...but the fact it's the heaviest loading game I have on my rig is pretty impressive to say the least. Most other games rarely break 44C this summer so far. So taking that into perspective, my stock cooler I'd be hitting around 65-75C+.

Watercooling...airflow...lower-end card, newer model 295...not too much you can do, that's a lotta power, maybe wait for newer drivers to see what happens, turn the settings down, turn the physx off is where I'd start if you can, I haven't looked tbh. But I suppose you could just disable your GPU from being the primary phsyx provider and go from there.

Take it you don't use Steam much or check many popular gaming sites or gaming news sites often? Solid indie 3d sidescroller as I stated a few posts before yours. Though the music and story are annoying imo, a well executed and very well polished indie game.

Definately a couple of options worth trying, keep us posted, it's not the smoothest game ever, but overall it's damn solid for an indie game, ranks up there with Evochron Legends imo, but way better graphics and a different genre.

Many hate them because either they are old school and hate them for "selling out" from the Black album forward or are like me and enjoy their damn music because they are the greatest rock group in the world. Sure St. Anger wasn't amazing, it was sweet to hear in concert though...wish they would've recorded it that way..(Spokane,WA, Spokane Arena 2003, Godsmack opened, amazing show!). Metallica is amazing, I love their new and old stuff and don't mind how much they've changed over the years, none of us stay 20 and pissed off at the world while fucked up on drugs our whole lives...most of those guys end up dead or locked up. I'm a huge fan of rock, heavy rock, hard rock, metal, heavy metal, etc...most of what I listen to tbh, even if it risks my chances of better gaming online, I love having good tunes in the background for some good motivation for kicking ass!

I'll tell ya, I've reopened my music collection since getting these JVC HA-RX700's, man they bring out so much I didn't notice with my TB HPA2 gaming headset it's not even funny. I've got almost every metallica release on FLAC...but my account is straining atm, so I gotta wait till payday to finish it off.

Gotta say though, definately try out some of the Master of Puppets & And Justice For All albums with Trine...for me it works out quite well!
