debating about new card

so I currently have a nvidia geforce 9800gtx+ and am gaming on a 1280x1024 res monitor. I could play a lot of games at the highest settings maybe some a little but lower (with AA and that stuff off) my question is if I was to get a gtx 460 ( for $90) will I get much of a difference? should I do the upgrade?

It would be an upgrade, a GTX460 is a tad faster than a GTX 260, hell check this link, it seems to beat a GTX 285. Your 9800GTX+ is very close to a GTS 250 in performance.

I'd say go for it at that price though I would also consider upgrading your monitor in the future also. Though really at that resolution I'm surprised if you have much for performance issues in many games at all with your current card. Have you OC'd it some?

I would save some money & go for a better screen first 22" or 24" 16:9

But if you can get a GTX460 (used i guess?) for $90. & it's working fine then it's a buy

That card could handle 1920x1080 pretty easily overall in most modern titles, hell your current card would do fairly well, albeit with less AA and maybe some medium/med-hi settings depending on the title.

I'd get a 460. I think you get like a 25% performance increase when overclocked. But I'd def. start saving up for a monitor.

thing is that's a new card for 90, which is why I debating. no idea what to do with the current card if I do get it tho. new monitor is still something I am waiting on for a good deal to pop out and not sold put before I can even pull out my credit card haha.
