has anyone ever rented a dedicated server from a company? if so, what company and was it a good service? i'm looking into renting one and starting a clan or something dumb like that.

Not sure about pricing for rentals, but if you are looking for a server only setup on the cheap and you have a broadband internet connection, then I would recommend that you just put together your own server and manage it yourself. Way more control and freedom that way.

You can pick up a cheapo Athlon XP or Pentium 4 based system on eBay for like $50. If you want a "new" setup, you can probably put together a cheap AMD based server machine for like $120 or so fom Newegg.com/Geeks.com/TigerDirect.com and similar.

well i dont have enough upload bandwidth. just 1 mbps.
