Benchmark Scores theres nothing to brag abt potato, but it can run decent 30fps fullhd with good setting:)
i know that bootleneck in general is mean is simply cpu cant catch gpu performance, but ive seen a quite confused one

for example on certain game(using nvidia 2060) in same resolution&same preset setup
i can get 99% gpu usage along my ryzen 2200g 80%,(normal pair i guess)

while some of them just run oposite way, below 60% usage of gpu, and the cpu goes 80-90%,( ithink this is the bootleneck ingeneral)

not to mention some strange resulting too, like cpu run below 50% but gpu goes 99%,(rtx2060 bootleneck by ryzen 4c/4t?!)

theres total 3 of different cpugpu usage work

so whats the true meaning of having bootleneck, as i see theres no performance impact on it, no sutter/lag/crash, the different only how the fan&temp work at fulload usage,
im on 2200g with rx570/580(great pair ever) and simple dont wanted to upgrade atm, the strange accured only pair with rtx2060, so i need to know for future upgrade plan, thx adv:)

Some depends more on the GPU, others a lot on the CPU and others want best of both...

for example on certain game(using nvidia 2060) in same resolution i can get 99% gpu usage along my ryzen 2200g 80%,
This is short of balanced.

while some of them just run oposite way, below 60% usage of gpu, and the cpu goes 80-90%,( ithink this is the bootleneck ingeneral)
Here you need a better CPU. More speed and/or threads

not to mention some strange resulting too, like cpu run below 50% but gpu goes 99%,(rtx2060 bootleneck by ryzen 4c/4t?!)
Here the GPU is the bottleneck It is maxed out

Here the GPU is the bottleneck It is maxed out
this yes!! how come rtx2060 bootlene lck by potatoes ryzen 3, thats my priority question :D

What game was that?
...and depends on the resolution and the in-game settings. The higher the resolution/settings are, the more the GPU will be the bottleneck.

ya
What game was that?
yakuza 2 kiwami, 1080p preset ultra, ssaa mode(equally 4k i supose,
i used fullhd becouse my current best monitors 1080p (dellvat 60hz & vgo22 75), downgrade from 1440:p

it goes 20-50% cpu usage, and gpu 99% allthetime if i recall correct(got average 30-50fps, sometime it hit 70fps in certain area,

with rx570/580 it just run stable both cpu&gpu usage but only can gain average 10-20fps, 40fps max(yes this game is gpu killer, kudos bad porting dragon engine):D

wait i think i still keep the snapshot, brb
nevermind, i alr clean my phone storage, i can take another shot after work off:)

Exactly. Just look at how Rage II performs on a 6c/12t 800Mhz processor with a decent GPU(GTX980).

A bottleneck, as defined in the dictionary, is a slow down essentially.

to slow or halt by causing a bottleneck
Your comparisons aren't really valid because you do not have anything to compare them to. All you see is the performance you are getting. If you drop in a faster CPU, you will see that performance will increase in your games (assuming you play at 1080p). What you "see" is a glass ceiling imposed by the slower CPU...but again, without a faster CPU to show you full performance of the card/system, you have the placebo effect of getting all of the performance.

All you need to do is look around the web and see tests done on games using the same GPU and different CPUs. This has been discussed ad nauseum for at least a decade.

Like Zach said though, it depends on the game and settings.. each are different. But in general an APU like you have and a mid-range card or better at 1080p, that GPU is being held back in many/most cases.

You are also limited by the core/thread count in some games as well. 4c/4t is what many would consider a minimum spec. That APU is also slow clockspeed wise running between 3.5 and 3.7 GHz (stock). Overclocking would help and is something you can test yourself.

just for interest a few months back i tried running the original crysis on my 9900k 2080ti rig..

the game was totally unplayable.. it was a stuttering lag fest.. my 9900k was bottlenecking my 2080ti gpu.. at least at anything less than a 4K resolution it was..

the game is a genuine single core game.. to play it at 1080 it would need something like a single core cpu running at 8 gigs or more.. no cpu on the planet could do this..

I've watched a 20+ mins long explaining/showcase of Crysis 1 and the Engine.
There it was mentioned that back in the days when the game was developed they had different hardware and mainly CPU compute 'expectations' in the future and they kinda built the game with that in mind.
They expected 5-7-8Ghz Intel cpus to be a thing instead of the core count increase.:D

But yea those single core dependant games can be a pain to run,I've played one for ~7 years and it was impossible to make that game run w/o issues and heavy frame drops cause it refused to properly utilize most of the hardware in the PC.:shadedshu: 'That game was the main reason why I switched to Intel for the time being cause AMD had rather bad single core performance back then'

I've noticed a few games (even recent titles) where a 9900k bottlenecks a 2080ti @ 1080p. Tbh, its a waste to be on 1080p with this card. The 2080ti begins to avoid bottlenecking at 1440p and shines at 4k.

I think some are confusing bottleneck with utilisation. A bottleneck is hardware not able to keep up. Under utilized is more power than needed

Bottleneck means you aren't preforming properly do to a severe imbalance, think 1080ti on a core 2 quad

Had to fire it up in win 10 just because, on my ryzen 3600x I maxed out the settings and get fantastic framerate, but in order to even play the damn game you have to delete bin32 and rename bin64 to bin32. Also had to track down a no-cd crack because securom is broken in win 10, but it runs fine on my machine.
