just Inspect VERY CAREFULLY any surface that's had the IC Diamond put on it
I will clean the GPU with ArctiClean and look if there are any visible damages caused by IC Diamond.
I have the Vega 64 liquid cooled now for around three weeks.

WOW!!! I did not know about this. I just read all the comments from the CEO and I just can't believe I've been buying and using this paste for years. I'm never recommending it just on that even though I've never had any issues with the paste itself .

I don"t know what to use now !!! :confused::confused::confused:

I feeling the same after reading that thread. :shadedshu:
That was not a good way to handle a problem.

I am going to use Thermal Grizzly as others recommended it to me.

Don't forget he wanted to sue to! I was here and got his free shit back in the day and what a total waste of skin that idiot was.. I believe @sneekypeet had a serious issue with him.. I'd check the link but that's a door that should remain closed from all the bad memories..

Differences are minimal. I go with stuff that works well and is easy to apply/clean. AC mx4 or Gelid for me.

I want to delid my intel i7 7700K. Aqua Computer Dr. Delid is already on its way. :)

Could some members give me their advice concerning which one of the following thermal pasts is a better choice to use between the IHS and the processor chip.
I have both Coollaboratory Liquid Pro and IC Diamond 24 Carat.

I am liquid cooling the i7 7700k and Vega 64.
I have currently Coollaboratory Pro implemented for CPU heatsink XSPC RayStrom.
I am using IC Diamond on Vega with EK nickel plated block.

So what do you think is better choise to put on delided i7 7700K under IHS.

I read that Coollaboratory Pro could have aging effects because it contains Gallium.

Hi m8,

Have just upgraded my system to = Gigabyte Z270 Gaming 9 with i7 - 7700K and used Grizzly Conductonaut.

Early testing showed a temp of the water in my system of 18 deg C during normal work load and when I ran the Intel Extreme tuning tests, the cpu temp never went higher that 23-25 deg C with it o/c @ 4.8 Ghz.

If you use it just make sure that you use liquid insulation tape over the (I think there were 4 of them) small exposed circuit board connectors as Conductonaut is electrically conductive.

Good luck - cheers

As the other say. Thermal grizzly is the stuff to get. But if you want the very bedst from them. Then its thermal grizzly kryonaut you want.

Its the paste i use on my cpu and even with only aircooling i have hit some pretty good clocks of up to 4.77 ghz on my i7 980x and that is pretty high for an x58 cpu.

Thanks to all.
I have picked today both Grizzly Kryonaut and Conductonaut.
I will apply Conductonaut on delided 7700k.

But it seems my delid project has to wait a few days as I have got another problem today.
Actually I am having it since few days now but today it got worst.
It seems my 4.5 year old the PSU (be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 1200W) is starting to die.
The power switch on it or something else with it is a problem.
PC does not want to start pressing power button on PC Case or even the one that is on the mainboard.
I have to flip the PSU switch halfway through multiple time before it starts.

Editted: I have made a separate thread for that issue though.

wat im missing here?

So would you suggest that I change on Vega 64 from IC Diamond to Coollaboratory Pro or MX-4?
I have a nickel plated EKWB block on Vega:
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-radeon-vega-nickel
arctic mx4, nothing moar to say,

Personally I just wouldn't use any "liquid metal" stuff.
I'd say, read some reviews.
they arent that bad, they just ate aluminium heatsinks... thats all, pretty useful when delidding

I delided 7700k yesterday and changed thermal paste under IHS from Intel original to Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut.
Between the CPU and the water block (XSPC Raystorm) I have now switched to Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut from Collaboratory Pro.

It was not easy to clean CLP from CPU IHS and water block. CLP was applied 3 months ago on CPU and in this time it has faded all the writing on the 7700K IHS.
All that was engraved on the top of IHS is gone.
The surface of CPU IHS and copper water block was rough. I had to use this sanding sponge that comes with CLP to make surface smooth on CPU and water block again. :shadedshu:

The delidding itself was very easy using Aqua Computer Dr. Delid. I was able to remove the lid in a few seconds with this it. :D
To glue the IHS back onto CPU, it offers a centering tool which made it also very easy to put IHS back after putting Conductonaut on the 7700K die and adding high temperature Silicon on IHS edges to glue it back to the die.

I also changed thermal compound on Vega from IC Diamond to Thermal
Grizzly Kryonaut.
I am not going to use ICD in future anymore. :nutkick:

I looked for any damages due to ICD but I did not find any visible signs of scraches caused by it.
Maybe I got lucky because I was very careful when I built it together and also when I took it appart. I did not let the water block slide on the Vega die.

Well the temperature in the stress tests, I did on Vega indicate that it is not too far of each other. I measured 2°C lower with Grizzly but I am not sure if it is only due to Thermal Grizzly.
I have also recently replaced two Nactua NF-F12 with EK Vardar F4-120 on the Radiator that cools water coming out of Vega and room temperature is also lower this week.
The tests with ICD was done before with older fans and room temperature was higher. Now it is starting to get cold outside again. :)

They also will never come off your CPU IHS stain wise.

They perform great, but that's enough reason for me not to recommend them beyond delid where it does not matter. For delids they are a must.

aye, also some people tend to use it over GPU's, its also harder to take out there, and is a mess to clean up GPU cooler, have seen also some mistakes there,

Bought CLP for my 7600K myself, tho I'm NOT going to delid with razor, so I'm waiting that someone on io-tech forums has a delid tool to loan for me.

If you're looking for a delid tool, i can send you one that you can have. I've recently delidded my 7700k using a tool i printed. PM me.
