Dell laptop need help

My aunt gave me a laptop because it wont turn on. it gives off a bunch of beeps. the screen doesnt turn on or anything. someone said it might be the cmos battery, but im not sure. its a dell inspiron m5030.

How many beeps?

Beep Code Possible Problem

One - Possible system board failure or BIOS ROM checksum failure

Two - No RAM detected

NOTE: If you installed or
replaced the memory module,
ensure that the memory module
is seated properly.

Three - Possible system board failure or Chipset error

Four - RAM read/write failure

Five - Real Time Clock failure

Six - Video card or chip failure

Seven - Processor failure

Eight - Display failure

Well she called and they refuse to fix it.The thing was 3 and half weeks out of warranty we found the reciept, but gave her an option to fix it for $149 plus we have to send it first and pay for shipping. She is going to buy another one but not a dell. Just thought I would give an update.

Ya, take it apart and then reassemble it. You might get lucky. Google service manual for the model and it will help you disassemble it

in between the cpu and gpu under the shared heatsink, its about 10mm long and it starts at, under the cpu tray its bad

ah well i was going to say you can try a circuit writer pen after scraping the traces if it wasnt to bad. but honestly i would probably only attempt something like what youve got for about 5min before getting pissed and iv done some mods in my day.

yeah she said it was really hot all the time and didnt have a notebook cooler. she kept it on 24/7. So she is going to buy a cooler and turn it off. lol she said she feels like and idiot and her desk has heat burn where she had her laptop its kinda funny but not. :slap:
