Is there any way so they are unique to each user? For example, I don't want any game icons to show on my parents desktop, but I do want them to show on mine. Is there a way to set this? Thanks in advance!

All game icons should go in the game explorer thingy. Looks nicer this way.

Just drag and drop to your desktop, those files are stored in the current user's directory, so they'll only show up on your desktop. Polar is right though, they should show up in games explorer, though I just installed mass effect and it did not come up, but i don't really care.
