Its still a port.......

Ill buy it. Play it all to hell, Buy the expansions and make a fan page but.......I wont like it.

There are ports, and then we have ports. I think it is pretty unneccesary to develop two identical games for several platforms, it makes sense to port them. TIme will tell if this is a good port or not, and I'm almost willing to bet money on a good port.

well there is something to be said about the fact that no new games really push GPUs anymore. there is no need to upgrade this year or next if you bought a 5xxx series radeon, or a fermi(unless you want a better fermi).

I agree it is possible to do right, but that is rarely the case. most are after-the-fact ports, rather than coded from the beginning that way.

as you said, i'm willing to bet but also simply hoping this is an exception.

Game engines can and do support things that cannot be implemented on consoles even if they are "ports". An Xbox 360 basically a PC afterall. Higher resolutions, textures, higher AA, higher AF, etc. all add to the graphical goodness that a PC can utilize.

definitely - but it seems more often than not they are NOT utilized, imo.

Isn't a XBOX360 limited to DX9? Isn't that the huge limiting factor of consoles is that you are hardware limited with no chance of upgrading until the next version comes out.

I never played any of the DE games on console and would be interesting to see how many sales they had in each market. PC,PS3,XBOX. I have a feeling the PC was the leader in Deus Ex... Need to check that out.

Not that it matters. I will be getting this game on pre-order when available.

Edit. Just found stats.http://ve3d.ign.com/images/45577/PC/Deus-Ex/Photo/Square-Enix-Sales-Reports

That also mentioned for every 1M console units sold, 400K PC sold.... Bummer! Damn consoles!

I can't believe I played the first Dues Ex 8 (EIGHT) freaking years ago!! And it is still a good game.
