Diablo 3 System Specs and Release Date?

I know Havok is a scalable physics engine. But I have watched all the teasers and movies they have released. You wont get that quality with those specs.

I would have to see it to believe it.

Of course they won't, if they include graphics settings in the menu, it wouldn't make sense to show the game off at lowest rather than highest settings out, would it?

Diablo and Diablo 2 were just more like Adventure games than RPG games... The old click to slash and kill drove me nuts of boredom.

Diablo and D2 were never meant to be RPGs. And sometimes you just want to logon and kill stuff; this franchise fills that void and does it with flair.

DIABLO 3 is going to look phenomenal graphically. They have to make the game playable for everybody if they plan on selling a lot. This is where Crysis went wrong. The game looks great but it kills low to mid based PC’s.

OS: Windows XP / Windows Vista (with latest Service Packs)

Processor:

Minimum: Intel Pentium 4 1.3 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 1500+

Memory:

Minimum: 512 MB RAM (1GB for Vista users)


Video:

Minimum: 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 32 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon 7200 or NVIDIA GeForce 2 class card or better
Recommended: 3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 128 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon X1600 or NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT class card or better

as you can see, these new requirements are barely higher than WoW, and most people at least think WoW is 'acceptable' in the graphics department.

I know guys that play WOW on cheapo notebooks. They just lack some DX updates to better the game because the cheap integrated Intel graphics does not support the newer DX features which WOW and other games require like the new Conan MMO.

Thats pretty much the point. Blizzard games always work on lower end hardware (albeit looking like arse), while on high settings they look pretty good.

Blizzard have a large difference between low, medium and high - its not like crysis where medium and high barely look any different, but it takes a machine three times more powerful to achieve 'barely improved'

Well, they were originally put out as RPG's... At least Diablo was, it even won awards for it... God only knows how, it's linear, BORING..

By the vids of D3 looks to me very linear. I'm hoping they have open fields and forests again. I thought chapter 3 was the best lol.

The entire design of the game makes it linear, they can't change that without totally changing the game.

Although a decently fun slash and kill for a while it's not a lasting game for me, gets boring swiftly.

I can say I like some of what they have done with the new one, but it's still that same old feeling that bugs me.... But making non linear RGP's and Adventure games is just a lot of work! I miss some of the oldies *Heroes Quest, Space Quest, Ultima Series mainly 7 etc...*
