Difference betwen ryzen 5 and ryzen 7?

Theres a discount on ryzen and i want to know how big the difference is in temps between ryzen 6 core and 8 core cpu are?

Hov big is the diffrence between ryzen 1700x and 1800x and don't tell me there is 0.2/0.3 ghz in difference, i know that and i guess bothe can run 3.9ghz

Ryzen runs fairly cool, I could do 3.8GHz 1.35V on my 1700 with the stock cooler, so a hyper 212 should be decent.

And there is no real difference between the 1700, 1700X or 1800X. They are the same chip just at different stock frequencies.

The only difference between them is generally just base clocks. If you're running at stock then XFR boost would kick in if cooling is appropriate.

Like every other cpu, It's totally up to chance, I've seen 1700's that do 4.2GHz 24/7 and 1700X/1800X's that can't run past 4GHz.

I upgraded to a asus gtx 1070 strix and psu, was a bit unlucky with a msi gtx 1080 (coilwhine).

I have oc'ed,my cpu to 3.9ghz and so fare gpu to 1733mhz and 2200mhz om the ram, just short of timespy 4k gaming pc score

Have tried higher oc of my gpu, but even with power,vcore settings on max i can't get higher than 101 point's from the 4 k gaming pc score, if i oc my gpu to much it reset it self back to stock settinge 1633mhz and 2002mhz

Who would know?????!!!!! Each will be different because there are so many variables. Use your head.

So, clockspeed, core count, and tdp are different. Logic tells a 5 year member that more cores and faster clocks equals more power used and cooling needed. To get the most out of any cpu, better cooling is needed to overclock. A 2x120mm aio will be f8ne to hit ryzens 'overclocking' limits in most cases.

Just a general though since all ryzen 7's have 8 core and 16 threads, upgrading to a noctua NH-D15 would be to much even when theres only about 1 hours before cyber monday here in central europe

Ryzen runs fine on the stock cooler, even overclocked. You don't need to buy an aftermarket cooler unless you are thinking of really pushing the OC. The stock cooler is as good as a Cooler Master 212.

The stock cooler damaged my thread on the backplate so i couldn't use a noctua cpu cooler since the screew wouldn't go all the way in, from behind it would

Sounds like a defective cooler, I've built at least 10 computers with Ryzen 5 and 7 processors and non of the stock coolers have the issues you are describing. Contact AMD and they will send you a replacement.
