here is a quote i copied off of some release about notebooks, more specifically quad SLI notebooks.......

“The Quadro 5010m four card solution yields a CUDA mobile super computer. This allows engineers, software developers, scientists and researchers to leverage the parallel computing platform and programming model, reaping massive benefits in pure raw computing power like never seen before. 4 x 384 CUDA cores for a total of 1536 CUDA Cores, 4 x 4 GB GDDR5 RAM totaling 16 GB GDDR5 RAM, as well as 3.86 Teraflops x 4 yielding up to 15.44 Teraflops” said David Aris, Eurocom Technical Operations Manager.

note the use of 4 x 384 CUDA cores (aka 4 gf 114's...aka 4 gtx 560ti's),,, which Nvidia always told us was not possible!!!

this bumms me out.....imagine what could have been :shadedshu

That isn't in SLI, just because all 4 cards can be running GPGPU calculations doesn't mean you can play a game with 4 of them. Same thing with the 560 TI, I bet you can run 4 folding instances with them, but not play a game using all 4.

i should have posted the whole article ......its quad SLI!!!!!!!!

I don't see it. Oh, you mean the laptop that shows up as a "future product." We'll see if that actually happens.

The highest end part is the 5010m. Presumably, you think 4 of these can be SLIed. Will they run games, no. Will they be in a "portable" laptop, no. What is this going to cost, a small fortune.

This kind of setup is for engineers who need crazy compute power. Programs that run massive calculation will love 1000+ compute cores, but games aren't even using 4 yet.

In short, I'm not angry because this kind of thing doesn't influence me and 99% of the population. Save your rage for a worthy cause.
