Do i have to replace this hdd?

hello there, i have a hard drive of fujitsu, i bought it second hand 15-20 days back it was with 7 days waranty but when i see health status today i see error "uncorrectable sector count" it is having linux os in it, currently i have connected it with a usb connector to laptop to check health and this is the report. should i be worried? how long will it last? is it risky? or i am fine with it? it is now out of warranty please let me know the best

Don't trust that drive any more. It seems this drive is no longer capable of replacing bad sectors with those in reserves.

1. Only use it for data you can afford to lose or being corrupt.
2. Make backup of data as soon as possible and then replace the drive.

just test it by putting big files like movie and check, does it freeze or clicking or suddenly slow as hell

used ssd could be better but since it's 2nd you don't know the real condition until you have it

only reason to get a mechanical drive is you cannot afford an SSD that large, and long term storage

Keep an eye on it and do backups. If the number rises you have a problem, but if the raw number stays at one it can live for years. At a previous job a hdd in a laptop we used had 1 C6 for years, and even more years later it still chugs along, still at 1.

sorry, from the sound it would be bad, platter disc is noisy but not like that

ssd is more safe since it has no platter, basically ssd is like flashdrive but i don't agree if they said it won't corrupt. it just like your memory card, there's a risk of something corrupted there

yes its hanging on by a thread. id back it up pronto it could last a while but the risk of losing data would be too much for me.

to be honist no one can say how long it would last its sorta how long is a peice of string thingy, if your not going to have data that you carnt afford to lose just use it untill it give up the ghost or becomes too loud.

Ideally, you want to be running your operating system off of an SSD anyway for much faster boot times and more overall snappiness throughout the usage of the system.

You bought it used and this disk has 5300+hours powered on, and 1000+ times boot/start. The clicking noises are not normal for sure and I wouldn't trust it.
And the transfer mode is SATA150? Thats SATA-1 if im not mistaken? This transfer mode was first introduced on 2003. I also hope that you didn't bought it for more than 2$ because it doesn't worth more than that...

Something doesnt add up here. The HDD is too old (10~15 years old), doesnt have too many hours on its counter for the years but yet it is sound very unhealthy as CrystalDisk also reports. And its size (76GB) does confirms that its tooo old.
My oldest SSD, 5+ years old, has more than 25.000hours of usage and 99% remaining life... Never used as OS drive though (only 4TBW).

although there's no important data, it's annoying where you bought something and it will be unusable in short time, except you realize the risk and keep using that one

If you have any sort of large storage requirements it makes a lot more sense to have an SSD cache for any number of hard drives you have. High capacity SSDs above 2TB are a complete ripoff. HDDs with SSD cache get essentially the same performance, if not more if you are using a PCIe 4.0 NVME ssd cache.

On topic, the OP's HDD has a single bad sector. It's something to watch for sure but it doesn't mean the drive is going to fail immediately. If that number starts increasing, then the drive should be decommissioned. Honestly with a drive of this size you can probably just backup all your data to any number of online file backup services from google or Microsoft and not have to worry about it failing.
