Hello

I plan to install 4 more case fans ( to help ssd temps)

2 top exhaust , 2 bottom intake

i´ve came across this adapter

i don´t wan´t to use it full molex due to constant 100% rpm

but i´m wondering , is there any bottleneck to the interface ?

reduced rpm / speed etc

if so , what is the best alternative ?

unfortunately my PSU has only molex connections

thanks

You have a 4070, buy a less shit PSU before your computer explodes.

Also if your motherboard only has 1 fan header... and you have a 4070... Re-evaluate your entire build.

Do some math on rated power draw of all fans combined and cross reference with amount a single fan header can supply (1A typically). Probably better off buying a fan hub or just using the headers on your board.

I always use 3-way PWM splitters for automatic speed control through the motherboard. Never had a problem.

Just be sure to check the fans' power rating and motherboard's manual for fan headers amp/watt rating.

On recent ASUS motherboards its normally 1A, maximum of 12W per header.

4-way maybe too much much depends on the fans you're using.

what would happen , they would stop spinning or reduced rpm?

Best to get a fan hub that's powered via Molex or Sata power connector. That one does NOT look like it has an input for power.

can you send me a link / model to one please?

i didn´t wan´t to use full molex due to 100% noise and my motherboard already has all the pins busy

Looks like you have 4 fan headers. So possibly 3 could be used while the CPU uses 1.

Understand the molex or sata power would go to the HUB and the HUB should have 1 PWM input from the motherboard and multiple PWM outputs for the fans. In this way the motherboard will still control the speed of the fans.

How many fans to you have in total for your system (that you are going to use) and are they all of the same type? Do you know their power rating?

there aren´t that much options here in brazil since i can´t make a good choice

do these two ones i´ve linked are likely to run into problems?

i found this one , wondering if it is better

Depends on how much power a fan header can supply (you can see it in your motherboard's manual), and how much power your fans need (you can see it on the sticker on the fan). Amps and Watts add up. As long as you're still within the rating of the fan header, you're good.

Getting a splitter is the simplest solution as others have advised being careful to stay in the power rating of the fan header. If you don't need a hub then use a splitter. FH-10 would be better if you need a hub in my opinion because it's powered but you still have to be careful not to exceed the power rating the power cable is supposed to provide.

The solution that will be ok for you depends on ...

- How are you using your current fan headers?
- How many fans total do you need to support?
- Are the fans all of the same type?
- What are their amp ratings?

Answers to these questions might determine what kind of splitter do you get, how many, or if a hub is a better choice.

i´ve checked the case and i plan to buy 2 splitters

i will use 1 splitter with 3 fans ( 1 cooler master sickleflow fans and 2 deepcool rf120)

the another splitter will use the same configuration

so it would be 2 splitters with 3 fans each

so the math says it won´t exceed (0.15 A for each fan approx)

can i get this one and use it safely ?

i found this one as well but i guess it will run full speed

sickleflow 120 = 1.8W , 0.15A
deepcool rf120 = 1.32 W, 0.11A

So if I just take your most power hungry fan and multiply by 3 = 0.45A (5.4w) max load per 3-way splitter. I guess that looks ok.

Typically one fan on a splitter will be reporting the RPM so by having different model fans on the same splitter the real RPM might be a little different and the noise profile may not be uniform.

so i´m getting this hub right ?

i don´t plan to use more than 3 really

also , on a side note , i plan to use 2 front case fans ( 1 middle , 1 lower )

2 at the top

1 back exhaust

and 2 bottom intake

i only plan to improve nvme temps a bit

it is not that high anymore but i still want to improve it

this is my case https://www.darkflash.com/product/drx70

thanks

i mean 3 fans on the splitter because i already have 3 case fans on my system already

but i would be 2 front , 2 top , 1 back , 2 bottom really

the rest of my system has good temps , my aim is to improve the airflow near the nvme a bit

Sorry I have to stop and ask another question. Currently you have 4 deepcool rf120 and 2 sickleflow 120 fans correct? What model is the 7th fan? (2+2+1+2=7)

sickleflow 120 = 1.8W , 0.15A
deepcool rf120 = 1.32 W, 0.11A

So if I just take your most power hungry fan and multiply by 3 = 0.45A (5.4w) max load per 3-way splitter. I guess that looks ok.

Typically one fan on a splitter will be reporting the RPM so by having different model fans on the same splitter the real RPM might be a little different and the noise profile may not be uniform.
That's another thing. Personally, I wouldn't mix different types of fan on the same splitter for accurate RPM reporting, but each to their own.
