I’ve had my h80i and my psu since 2015 is it fine to get rid of the boxes now and keep the papers to it? I’m trying to clean out my back room to make a game room so get rid of it or keep it a few more years? I know I can trash my razer keyboard and mouse and headset boxes.

I’m also finding old screws that went to my old pc case which is long gone by now and I don’t see a reason to keep them. I still got the ones that came with my new current case

I only keep them as long as the warranty is in effect, sometimes it's good to keep them for reselling the part but if you have no room you can always buy boxes.

Yeah just a good rule keep them as long as the warranty then toss them, all up to you though.

If you do other builds it never hurts to have extras around.

You don't need extra things like screw from old builds until you don't have them.

I keep all that kind of thing organized by type in ziplock sandwich bags in a toolbox With fans, connectors, plugs, etc. Very tidy.

haha, me? i still have the box from 2008 and for some reason that i dunno i always keep the boxes
some for warranty, some for aesthetic since some boxes are special
but maybe the limit is your space. if you have no space anymore that's the time you drop some of them

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
What you do with the screws and boxes is really up to you. I keep the boxes as long as I have them, but I do sell a lot of my stuff as well and people like the stock boxes... they fit so nice. As far as screws.. you can save them if they will work somewhere else. I have a small toolbox full of screws fans, tubing, connectors, paste, heatsinks etc.

Its up to you what you want to do with them though.

I don't keep my boxes past my ownership of the unit inside. I think some are cool, but, I don't packrat either. ;)

Yup I don’t plan on upgrading anything for a few years but never know when something might go bad and a good thing to keep boxes and a few screws laying around. Can’t wait to see how this gaming room will turn out but it will take sometime

usually do not resell my stuff so boxes are there at the beginning but tossed away real quick, I cant afford to horde them. Indeed the manual and accessories fit in smaller compartments. On a side note, If after some time I need something from there, It is a pain to find and I always misplace the many PSU's cabling/ case accessories etc. It's a real junkyard up there.

i keep my boxes and packaging for the warranty time, and for resale purposes, many people like to get original box of the product your are about to sale, also space is not a problem for me, so its ultra OK,
about the screws, parts and accessories, toolbox, organized by type, they are always useful!

For the most part, I keep motherboard, videocard, CPU, and power supply boxes. As long as I own the part I own the box. Once I don't own the part I get rid of the box. The box increases the value a lot and since I resell when I upgrade to offset the cost of the upgrade, I keep the boxes around. I just throw them in a sterilight plastic drawer. I also keep the manuals and installation disks in the box.

I still have a few old motherboard boxes extra which I keep stuff like spare sata cables and static bags in.

I'm rather anal about keeping boxes for hardware. Hell, without actually looking (since I don't remember tossing it when the wife and I moved into our place 12+ years back) I think I still have the original box my Sony receiver came in and the box was put under the stairs storage space. The receiver still works great, but it lacks HDMI I/O so these newfangled TVs don't connect to it due to the lack of RCA connectors and I don't feel like trying to utilize RCA to HDMI converters.....she's just setup to play radio for now and is only used a handful of times throughout the year.

When my hardware is no longer in use, it goes back in the original box and packed away with everything that came in the box. I'm pissed my younger brother dumped the GTX 280 box when I lent him the GPU to use years back. He ended up moving and just pitched it......punk. I still have the card (it's the BIOS flashed GTX 285 to a GTX 280) and it still functions, she's just without a proper home :-(

The wife gives me crap for keeping boxes and having all these physical copies of older PC games. Surprisingly though, some of the games I have I've sold for more then I paid for it when I purchased them new.

I kept my PS2 box and when I was finished with it (when I eventually got a PS3 after they were out for a couple of years), the PS2 went back in its box. She still works to my knowledge, I did hook it up to my PC (for audio through the speakers) and computer monitor for a while about 6-7 years back to play a couple of games....but back in the box she went.

It's nice to have the original packaging, if you ask me. But it certainly can take up unnecessary space if you don't have a lot of room to keep them....and it can certainly piss off your significant other if they feel it's just clutter that can be thrown away.

I keep all boxes, simply because if your going to sell something, you can't sell it complete and it's without the box!! Besides, somethings are actually worth a bit more with a box but that said, that might be more so for 'retro' things... That said, I've still got my DFI 939 board box from however long ago.....

I always keep for resale especially high-end items like Video Cards. I would estimate the box can add anywhere between 5% and 10% to the value of an item...sometimes more.
