theres posts all over this forum saying that sata 300 actually has little to no gain over sata 150

so i should just leave the jumper on 1.5gb then?

i just thought every gain in performance is good even when its free!

as far as i know myself, there isnt a drive thats capable of sustaining even 150mb/s transfer rate, never mind 300mb/s. the numbers are just marketing gimmick

no, set it to 3.0

even if it doesnt use it there is no reason not to have it enabled at max capacity

Take the jumper off.
However, it's unlikely you will ever hit the full 300MB/s capacity even with burst speeds, but you will still be better off with the jumper off. My sata 3.0 drive got 250MB/s in HDTach...heh

alright thanks :) does it make any difference that the jumper is like half lenght, making it very hard to reach and take out?

to me that would seem like someone wants me not to remove it heh

It doesn't matter, you're supposed to take it out if you don't have any compatibility issues. Just use tweezers.
