The crazy thing is how much I've actually gotten rid of. After doing reviews for here for like 5+ years, 50 boards is only 10 reviews a year. I know I've done way more, and I was into PCs long before I started doing reviews. If I had every single little thing I've got as a review sample... OMG.

I don't have much other stuff though. I got tools, like any other guy, I have my guitars, and I have my RC stuff. All of it is stuff I use with my kids; they all have PCs (and play games with each other), they all play music, and they all have their own RCs and we try to use those every day. So my wife telling me to get rid of stuff that brings our family closer together isn't going to happen.

Last weekend we went to a national park, walked nearly 10km with those silly scale RC trucks on the trails, took 2 hours. Nobody said "I'm tired!" either!

My kids are everything to me, but that's because my own father was largely absent in my life. Haven't seen him in person in over 20 years. Don't talk to my mother at all either; she left when I was under 3. So I didn't know what having loving parents was as a kid, went through some rough times as a kid, including being homeless, and then when I had kids, I could not let them feel even remotely how I did as a child.

With that as what motivates me as a parent, I can't say that I wish there were more people as involved with their kids as I am, though. I don't have a lot of money, and when I do get some, it gets spent on US, not THEM. If I wasn't doing reviews, I wouldn't have the PC gear hoard I do have, so it's largely thanks to you guys reading my reviews and W1zz giving me the opportunity that has created the pile of boxes I keep in various places through the house!

This is my stash in one of the bedrooms I use for my computer room (4 bedroom house) so plenty of space and I keep the room very clean and tidy. My wife puts ups with it but really doesn't like it and [encourages] me to get rid of much of it. It's interesting that I just came across this thread when over the last week or so I've been getting ready to either sell off, donate or give away a lot of components that I don't need or use anymore. I do tend to keep the empty boxes of components that are currently in use so as to have a package to sell them in when I do get rid of stuff and boxes with smaller spare parts such as cables and such.

As for your question about whether or not this is a problem you have. I don't believe you do after viewing your pics of what you keep as long as it's your space and can keep things fairly organized, though I do hear you when you say your wife isn't happy with it ....But as shown in a few other photos posted here, I think there may be issues with this when it gets so out of control it consumes one's entire living space.
