Case in point: sequester. Both parties signed off on it but Democrats didn't thing the Republicans would actually let it happen . Let it happen, Republicans did.

Prior to this election campaign, Trump was a Democrat.
He was a Democrat by 1980's standards. Not by todays standards which is one vote away from full blown communism. Todays "Republicans" are 1980's Democrats.

This is why I am now a Libertarian and a gay black woman with a taste for redheaded women.

Go Trump. Let's dissect that statement.

We must greatly strengthen our Nuclear arsenal... until the world comes to its senses about building nuclear weapons.

Build more weapons because other people keep building them.

Despite the fact we have more than enough.

Well, being so very cheap to produce should help the US budget.

Nukes are like Jell-O. You can never have to many.

FYI our arsenal has not only been greatly reduced over the past 20 years but its also been neglected. A lot of them are honestly not "battle ready" anymore. Building new ones kinda needs to be done if we are to keep up our deterrent.

So Trump is kinda right on that tweet.

Most of US's nuclear arsenal is Minute Men III missiles and dumb bombs. Minute Men III is an okay rocket but the systems used to fire them originate from the 60s. USA doesn't dumb bomb anymore. I think the Air Force would likely prefer a nuclear-armed cruise missile so the launching aircraft can stand off from the target.

Edit: Obama's 2011 budget had provisions for modernization too:
https://fas.org/blogs/security/2011/02/nuclearbudget/

...it was wide sweeping. I'm thinking Congress refused to fund a lot of that so I think Trump's going to make it a priority to follow through. I don't get the impression that he wants to increase the number of nuclear weapons the USA has.

Right, who was in charge when the debt basically doubled from 10 to 20 trillion? And speaking of dissecting Obama dissected our military physically and emotionally.

Ok....so Bush was a moderate Republican who went out of his way to work with Dems and even worked with Ted Kennedy the "liberal lion" on I believe it was an education bill. So at best you can argue two liberal Democrats (Obama radically so Clinton had to work with Republican congress a bit) and one capitulating moderate Republican who worked with dems doubled the debt. Point is moderate to liberal fiscal policies are a disaster for the economy, debt and gimmes for the underclass and a sputtering economy is about all you get out of it.

Democrat or Republican, it's just an illusion of choice as they vote for the same agenda despite the rhetoric.

“The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies... is a foolish idea. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.”

People tend to give the President more credit than is due. When things are good and when things are bad. Really not much will change unless Trump gets a lot of cooperation from Congress and frankly I don't see that happening. He's already alienated a good bit of Republicans. If I were to guess at what his Presidency will be like it looks like he will go down in history books as a lame President not accomplishing much but it's too early to say right now I guess.

This sounds eerily similar to literally thousands of predictions from political gurus since Trump announced his candidacy at Trump tower roughly a year and a half ago.

Let's see I'll start at very beginning and work my way to the present with a bunch of conventional "wisdom" phrases that were echoed: Trump is a joke he's not serious about winning or running, Trump has no political experience Jeb/16 others will kill him in debates, Trump will never get the nomination, Trump will implode, Trump won't ever do as well as Romney, Hillary is ahead and he has basically no chance, Hillary will win, Trump has "no path" to 270 Electoral votes (only to 304 apparently), Trump doesn't know what he's doing (in politics) therefore no way he'll win presidency or even come close, Hillary is likeable, Trump's crowds won't translate to votes in various states he will lose in a landslide, exit polls on election night show Hillary will win, Trump didn't spend enough money, Trump had no ground game, Election night at 3 AM. Trump wins.

Yeah, no offense, but I'd bet you a fair amount of money here and now you are almost 180 degrees wrong with that, he will face challenges and have ups and downs, but I'm betting strongly on him continuing to steam ahead and turn the political insiders on their head as well as getting a ton of things domestically and internationally done.

I'm certainly no political expert but I think I have a pretty good grasp of where Trump stands with Congress right now. Also he's seen internationally as somewhat of a joke or a loose cannon that makes some foreign leaders nervous. I have no doubt that he will try to shake up the political establishment but that can cause Congress to rebel against his ideas if he doesn't find some way to appease them.

I didn't think he would win and wasn't sure if he really wanted to be President or he was just running for all the attention he was getting from the media. Trump has two very serious weaknesses that can be exploited. His temper and his need for attention even negative attention. If he thinks he can run this country like a CEO then he will fail.

Having said that I voted for him because it was either him or Hillary and I think he's the better choice imo.

Surprised from what you said you voted for him, however NOT surprised considering Hillary is about as flawed and failed a candidate and human being as you can get in my opinion without her being a woman, democrat, and having every media/celebrity hyping her I doubt she'd have gotten half of votes she got. That said, however I think you're again wrong and wrong. You want to talk about temper despite all the media and pundits shitting on him for over a year he always had an answer and I think it's safe to say in the long game he so far has won...They lost all credibility, look like fools, and he's President of the United States. Also why would a billionaire who's 70 go through all this crap and lose money and take a serious pay cut if all he wanted was praise or attention good or bad? He could have gotten plenty not being president and he has everything a guy could ever want. Sorry, no one tries to be President for attention, he did it because he truly believed he has the ability and he is not happy with where Barack and the Dems took this country, period. He's already filled his cabinet, talked to many world leaders, and engaged with businesses like Carrier to save jobs etc...dude still has a month before even being sworn in! I think all the evidence is to the contrary, this guy loves his country, loves a challenge, and he gets stuff done...period. If he even "leads" this country he's already a step up from Obama, he's a weak, feckless, impotent community agitator who draws lines in sand and bluffs and everyone laughs at him. He's done nothing but fill space and golf for 8 years and pass bad laws and regulations while shitting on our allies like Israel and making deals with Iran lead sponsor of terrorism. Good riddance Barack, if Trump did literally nothing but undo what Obama did he'd be a relative success.

I wondered if Trump really wanted to be President or was just craving media attention because some of his comments seemed more intended for shock value and actually hurt his campaign. I used to know of a person that ran an Investment Firm and had some clients that were billionaires and he readily admitted that the personalities of billionaires were such that they all had one thing in common. They all have massive egos which need to be fed regularly. People do sometimes run for President while not really wanting the job. Ross Perot comes to mind. He ran just to take away enough votes from George HW Bush to ensure that he would lose to Clinton. He ran because he had a personal grudge against Bush from his days as Vice President to Reagan and wanted to ensure that Bush would not be reelected.

Right but Perot lost and never had much of a chance, but yes he had a grudge and could care less about winning just screwing Bush. I don't have any rationale like that for Trump, plus he won, say whatever you want he got it done and he's there. He's already governing and he hasn't even been sworn in, every President and politician HAS to have a huge ego to be in that position/job or try for it, that is simply a qualification to have a prayer of winning at the job.

Prior to this election campaign, Trump was a Democrat.

That statement was ignorant. That is like claiming Obama is a Muslim still even though that rumor was proven false too. Because he's friend with people who are Muslim.
Trump had Democrat friends...and even some that he gave money to their campaign. But living in New York which is a very democratic state...how else would you expect to do business? Not only that.... I'm a conservative, and your telling me I can't have Democrats as friends because I am conservative? As i said that is an ignorant argument.
