Hi!

I wanted to know if they have produced it somewhere a graphic card adapter to fit an AGP card onto a pci-E slot ? Because i have a nice AGP card and would like to use it

There was something about it back in 2005; Albatron ATOP. I dont think they are sold anymore though, and they only support very few cards, as detailed in the link.

Get yourself an ASROCK 775i65G or ASROCK Conroe 865PE.

It will run your Q6600 and your AGP card. I have 2 systems like this.

Err, seriously cool adapter cards that trevormacro found! I've been looking (unsuccessfully) for one of those for years. So the trick is PCIX. Nice!

Don't know of such a device, besides the mentioned motherboards for 775skt processors.

GPU manufacturers did go the other way round and made PCI-E GPUs AGP but that was still a market for AGP cards.

Keep looking on the asrock website... e.g. this one has AGP and DDR2. There are others. Also do a google, "s775 DDR2 AGP benchmark"

I would never recommend investing in old tech, but if you can pick up a mainboard on ebay for $5 it is worth doing for the lols.

I must be honest, that card is NOT a high end card. You would spend more getting a motherboard for it than anything. Just sell and get a PCIex card. A 7950GT PCIex would be it easy

I agree you should be able to offload that card easy on ebay and pick up something better that's PCIE with the money you make off it. But if you really want the agp card then Ebay will be about your only hope to find a s 775 mobo for a reasonable price that has a agp slot and uses ddr2.

My bro has an asrock dualvga board. I think he is running a x1650 agp (I'm not an ati kinda guy). He might be willing to sell. Its hard to get a hold of him...he's in the middle of nowhere most of the time.

Edit...he's actually just south of you in NY.
