This might be a stupid question, but it would be stupid not to ask. If I have 2 pci-e 16x slots, will it affect performance if I use the "2nd" slot instead of the "1st"?

It doesnt matter as long as your other pci-e slot is 16x also...Check your motherboard specs.

Thanks! both are 16x. I wanted to add a xfi titanium pci-e x1 card with my tax return :p, but in order to do that I need to move the graphics card down to the second slot. Then I can free up the pciex1 slot for the sound card and the pci slot for the physics card. :toast:. I always hated onboard audio with my logitech z5500's, never sounds as good.

can't you stick the x-fi in one of the empty pci-e x16 slots instead

Its compatible like that? Im very interested to know this cause I never had a pci-e x1 or x4 card. After checking I cant because my gpu cooler and 120mm fan takes up 3 slots blocking the other 16x slot.

I tried it once and seemed a bit off in performance for some games..
