Well i searched it and it said that my cpu only supported 3200 if it was oc I also saw people say that speeds don't make a double digit frame diffrence so is it that big of a deal?

it says on the website
  • Supports DDR4 3200+ (OC) (Ryzen CPU) / 2400 (A-series APU)

like kapone said why get slower ram if ya can get faster for 1 dollar less?

All you have to do is hit delete during boot. Go into the BIOS advanced tab find memory OC and apply XMP.

no it says that 3200 is only supported if its overclocked and it would come default 3200 which means it's not overclocked

Your cpu & board will run DDR4-3200 without issue, it simply involves selecting 3200 in the bios and setting the timings and voltage accordingly. All of which X.M.P. will do for you.

If the RAM is rated at 3200 MHZ enabling the XMP does not OC the RAM it just runs it at it's base rated speed. Setting the XMP does not mean you have to OC your CPU either. They put that as OC to cover themselves. The base clock of Ryzen first gen boards is 2133 if I am not mistaken. I have that board in my lab and it works all the way up to 3600 as long as you keep the BIOS updated.

Both Intel and AMD will only list JEDEC specs as being supported. However that CPU and board will run frequencies much higher than 2666.

If you get that 2666 kit chances are it wont reach 3200, if you can buy faster memory there is simply no reason not to. I don't know why you insist on getting something inferior. All combinations should be capable of reaching JEDEC specs anyway.

With an updated BIOS this board supports 3733 as OC.

well a max of 2666 i guess it could go higher if its overclocked but otherwise no

I think i been updated the bios but that caused problems that i'm not tryna deal with again

Yea the b450 Pro 4 will run ddr4 3000/3200 kits np as long as they're not corsair lpx which hates ryzen lol and the board will support 3733 though a first gen ryzen will not, 3200/3333/3400 is the maximum you'll get out first gen, suggest 3200 for the least amount of issues and tweaking to get stable

If you are worried just get the 2666 set and be happy. I know what the CPU says but I cannot see how that RAM will not work but regardless it will run at 2133 unless you enable XMP on the 2666 set anyway.

why are we even arguing over speed it doesn't make a big difference it makes like a couple of frames difference

On Intel maybe. There is something called the infinity fabric on Ryzen CPUs and that directly interfaces with your RAM. I guarantee that a Ryzen CPU running 3200 16 timings will feel much snappier than 2666 18.
