Doom 3 was realistic, but this just takes the cake.

I want one for Christmas. Especially that vest, it'll make me look uber-leet at the end of the year when we get to take video games in for the last week. :D

Me first, I'm youngest, I'm more important. I wonder if they sell these in UK, should be a bt cheaper.

    800 x 600 display?
Why not wait until they come out with a 1280 x 1024 version and then ask for a Christmas present?

Because then it'd cost like $2000. And 800x600 is good enough for me, as long as it runs and I look 1337 and scary running around with a pretend shotgun shouting "YOU F#CKING DIE!!!!"

Yes, but you know if you got one about a month later there would be a better one.
You would be really upset and probably rant on the boards for a month :D

he'd probably already be killed by the ultra realistic demon that kills him in Doom..

little do you know that when you get stabbed in the chest in that game by a claw a spike shoots out of the vest and stabs you in the spot, and it works the same with the glasses ...one false move get hit in the face...and all the sudden you lose an eye.

    now thats ultra realistic...

I wouldnt get one unless the native resolution was a more natural viewing angle.

    Being immersed in a 4:3 environment=bad.

    Cool idea none the less...

Shweet. It looks rather tempting, but your headline says "Doom 3 was realistic." Come on! It was on mars and it had a bunch of aliens that worried more about creating suspense for a lame horror movie than actually trying to kill you. Sorry, just had to gripe. Amusing post tho.

    I'll never understand virtual reality.
Until I can do it (run around physically to navigate a virtual world) without running into a wall and breaking my face then it sucks.
    "Joystick controlled virtual reality...GAY!"

I had that same idea when I saw it. John Carmack reckons we'll see that kind of technology around 2010-2015, where it distorts the are in the dimension you play in to form the game.

    Or someting like that.

Unfortunately, where I live, I've NEVER seen anything like DOOM3 content in real life. Perhaps I just live in a boring part of the country that doesnt have corridors and monsters like DOOM3? Please tell me where you live!
