Dragon Age 2 Demo Confirmed!

I never played the first. I wonder if I should before this one.

When word of a previously-unannounced Dragon Age 2 demo was found hidden on BioWare's website earlier this week, the developer dismissed it as "speculation" and insisted the demo was not confirmed. Today, however, is a brand new day and it's been announced, unsurprisingly, that the fantasy RPG sequel will indeed receive a demo.

BioWare's hidden page did turn out to be somewhat misleading, as the demo will in fact be released on February 22--not February 23, as the hidden page stated.

The demo starts off during the game's prologue before jumping to the new location of Kirkwall. As a bonus for completing the demo, you'll unlock a special weapon to use in the full version of the game, the blade Hayder's Razor. That's another one to add to the colossal pile of items players can already obtain before even loading the full game.

The Dragon Age 2 demo will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 22. The full game is slated to launch on March 8, hitting the same platforms.

:O!!! Not your type of game? This is one of the only games that didn't let me sleep it's definitely worth checking out.. And I'm not a baldurs gate fan.

the first one was a predictable and unimaginative run-of-the-mill rpg that can't step on Baldur's gate's little finger but it is still worth playing because of its immersive atmosphere and nice graphics.

It had some nice things (I like how the elves are), but I kinda agree with you here. It felt alot like Main quest -> spend 70% of the game gaining companions -> finish game.

It was easy to get into though.

DA:O is an excellent game, not perfect, but what game is?
I recommend playing it to get the background story.
It starts out giving a very good feel for the what the life of your character is like (depending on your race, class, status choices are). After that it's still a good story after that, but after that as HaH said, it's somewhat predictable.
I never played the DLC, but it was largely regarded as crap.
The expansion got better reviews.

So if you get everything you can "pre-game" you probably will have better gear than you can find in the game. :shadedshu

I just cant get into single player RPGs ... I gotta have the trading post to buy and sell and play the market. Its something I gotta have for some reason haha.

to fix crashes launch game open task manager select core affinity for 0 and 1 so it runs on 2 cores, for some AMD systems your forced to run on 1 core, but doing so will stop the game from crashing, i had the same issues the above allowed me to play for over 35 straight hours no crashing and then started a new campaign and put in another 30hrs on that again no crashing after using the above. Just seems the game becomes unstable on more cores, especially Awakening, god damn that game would crash at the main menu with all 4 cores being used on my system at stock.

Seemed to work for me. Setting the core affinty to just 1 core got me past this one point that kept crashing.

yup, funny isnt it Dragon Age is one of the few games that scales across cores yet that very ability causes it to crash and fuck up all the time lol

Not every title Bioware puts out is gold to me (Mass Effect). I was sick of Fantasy type games when the 1st Dragon Age was released so I didn't give it a chance. My friends said it was good but I doubt I'd ever go through either.

I have to agree with that for the most part. I would add that whilst the ambiguous nature of the characters does help to create a more realistic dramatic interaction, where people are nether black or white, I found that it was hard to be sympathetic towards any of them and ultimately lost interest in their plight and the world they populate.
