Try playing in a window rather than full screen. I think this will cure your problem

Try swapping the inputs over and trying again.
Have a look at eyefinity.
Type multi monitor into W7 search and have a play with the options there.

thnx for taking time to answer me.
when i do the thing that you do above in the pic everything is perfect. the problem starts when i put the game even in window mode.
just to clear something. only the video goes black. the movie is still playing with sound only. when i alt tab to go to the video i have to start it again.
so i was thinking maybe some codecs?

I'm pretty sure one of the connections has to be DisplayPort, the other can be whatever (besides VGA).

Plug them in, go into CCC and configure Eyefinity for 2x1.

games for them to work properly have to be full screen mode, not window (driver/OS limitation)

will do it.

Agreed however i have found that windowed mode will help if you are using different resolution screens.

I ended up trying all the options especially with a 42 inch tv a 24 inch monitor and a 19 inch monitor

Start button
multi monitor
set up computer to use multi monitors.

Detect

Then set up

A lot easier than eyefinity to get going anyway

i did the same thing by connecting the Video monitor/TV to the Motherboards Video output, and the Gaming Montior/TV to the GPU. Worked fine , the iGPU ran Video, and the dGPU ran games.

@CAPSLOCKSTUCK

nope they displayed simultaniously. Render standyby? some option in Asrocks UEFI. Extreme 3 Gen 3 was the board. or maybe IGD multimonitor? one or the other.

It's nice when Streaming.. You can view the stream chat etc.... Without ALT Tabbing the Game play and freezing the stream.

What player are you using to play the videos? I'd try a different player because it sounds like whatever you are using is having a conflict with the hardware acceleration of the video and the game.

I've got several computers with either two or three monitors connected, and have no problem playing a full screen movie on one while playing a full screen game on the other. I use Kodi(aka XBMC) to play my movies on the second screen.

Shouldn't need DisplayPort, even low end cards support at least two monitors without DisplayPort.

Also, Eyefinity isn't what you want to use in this situation. Eyefinity makes the system think both screens are one large single monitor. You don't want that if you want to do different things on each screen, you want the system to see the screen as independent displays. That way you can maximize something, or enable fullscreen, and it won't span across both screens, it will just take up the screen it is on.

He said "for gaming". So I'd assume he'd want both monitors working as one.

thank you everyone.
after tests and tests, i can say that i haven't found the exact problem but i found a solution.
if i open first the game and then the video works perfectly. also this happens only to games that i run as admin.
hope this thread helps someone in the future, and thank you all for your participation.

ps. btw its pretty obvious but i need to ask, when i duplicate the monitors and play games its more taxing on my hardware right?

just some suggestion: you need to use Extend screens, not duplicate. (btw as far as i know duplicate isn't taxing the system more)

and you can choose in video player youre using option called: Always on TOP.

From what I understand:
- You got dual monitor setup.
- Each monitor is showing individual output (not duplicated screen)
- You can see your video on monitor no 2 either in full screen or window
- But when you start a game, either full screen or windowed, your monitor with movie or movie itself goes black or player crashes?

I have similar problem and the root of the problem I cannot explain correctly, but it is due to the player/output codec.

In my case I use VLC as video player. By default VLC wanna use DirectX (on MS Windows) as output to the monitor. However this will conflict if you start a game requiring DirectX, and wil make output black or VLC crash.
I solve the problem by switching output in VLC to OpenGL instead. This way I can game and watch video on each monitor at the same time.
