It is applied to the terms "fact" and "fact checkers"
The view that many people have of "fact checkers" is incredibly simplistic and naive. Have you ever even looked into who is funding these "fact checkers"? If you are referring to the well-known American fact checkers they have been discredited to anyone who genuinely cares about the truth and objectivity (and therefore who is unwilling to "temporarily" sacrifice those "for the greater good"). The events of the last couple of years in the West if anything should have taught you that "fact checkers" and "content moderation" based on what is supposedly true and what is not (rather than what is illegal) cannot be trusted and relied upon if you value a truly free society.
