Open beta weekend!

I'm not terribly excited, but I'll play this weekend.

Yeaahhh I think Im triggered enough to give this a go. Maybe its not bog standard 3rd person nonsense. Maybe its going to be similar to The Division except pounding sand. Not a bad thing

I've seen a few streamers playing this and it looks interesting, but once it goes mainstream it'll be a dumpster fire.

Funcom's track record for anti-cheat is abysmal. Conan Exiles was great but a complete lack of any kind of server control means that it's just a hackers playground. If you want to enjoy the game you are likely going to be out of luck as the cheaters and cheating griefers have free reign of every server.

Maybe I'm wrong and Funcom have solved the issue, but it's one of their weakest aspects and it's why the excellent Conan Exiles was ruined.

Blegh so it isn't an open beta. :(

are there is SP offline mode on this game ??

i hate/dislike the MMORPG mode, dude.....

Ok so I bought this and after 35 minutes I refunded.

It's shit. It's a shitty action game with an Over The Shoulder that you cannot change perspective. I hate the premise so much. I hate everything so much. Abolish gaming and gamers and the enablers of them. Purge everything. Consciousness is overrated.

Well, for those who have played it....

They'll get it

Thank you for saving me time :toast:

The worm got me today. I lost everything, but man, was it cool!

I put ~80 hours into it and reached endgame (deep desert stuff). It was majority solo or at most duo with a friend.

- The progression feels way off. Not hard to have aluminum or duraluminum gear before getting halfway thru the "story". You're then 1 shotting the npc's at the locations it sends you.
- There's no real endgame. You go to the deep desert (Another map that you have to fly to, which is a cool concept. But it's just a strip of mediocre PVE locations then a wasteland of half-loot pvp) and hope to avoid roaming gank squads to collect crafting mats and schematics that only drop out there. That's it, no real group pve content (the deep desert labs just throw more janky AI at you), no "dungeons", just endgame pvp zone material collection and a crappy faction system that only really benefits large guilds (and even then is incredibly shallow).
- PVP right now isn't skill based at all. It's orni rocket spam and/or stunlocking your opponent like OG world of warcraft rogues.
-- Coming from a Conan player who enjoyed most of the PVP in that game, the way deep desert is handled is awful.

Overall I'd pass on the game for now. Funcom is notorious for mediocre content updates and will eventually crush this game with some type of cosmetic cash shop like they did with conan.

It's still listed as just mp, but I was hoping (yeah I know, unrealistically) they would give it a singleplayer component where you'd play a campaign similar to the war on Tuchanka in Mass Effect. It wouldn't have to be as large scale engagement wise as MMO type games, but I think a campaign where you work with half a dozen or so AI would be cool. There was actually stuff like that in the Dune 2 movie anyway, they had to escape and use stealth to a degree. I've always thought it would be cool as well though to fly an Ornithopter or ride a giant Sandworm, the possibilities are endless. This game would be SO much better under a better dev team and publisher. "Funcom" should be called Cashcom, they're better with simple toys.
