Dutch and Portuguese Shops Leak AMD Radeon RX 6600 Pricing

Got €600 to spare? Great, as that means that you can afford an AMD Radeon 6600 graphics card when they launch sometime next month. Courtesy of both a Dutch and a Portuguese computer shop, we now have an idea of what the cards will cost ahead of the retail launch which is said to be on the 13th of October.

The Portuguese shop also kindly posted pictures of the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6600, which comes as expected with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, which it lists for €589.90. The Dutch shop was less forthcoming with their MSI Radeon RX 6600 MECH 2X 8 GB, but to be honest, it might not matter what these cards look like at these kinds of price points. The MSI card is listed at €600,41, so make sure you bring some coins as well.

As pricing/availability deteriorates each month, we just see the lower end cards launched at progressively higher price points.

If this trend continues we'll be seeing a Geforce GT 3010 with 4GB of GDDR4 DDR4 selling for €800 by Christmas...

Considering Intel is using TSMC, I doubt they'll be able to saturate market with their graphics card.

Same cost and perf, of a (2018) RTX 2060 6GB wich was obvious, but a year ago would´ve been more like 280-300 Euros instead of over 500.
Since Q4 2020 Raytracing starts at over 450-500 Euros and when UnrealEngine 5 Games using Lumen launch, those will need GPU of 600 Euros

That's how i see it and my hope too.

I don't like when a company is in the saddle and increases their prices, because they can (get away with it). But lately both the greens and reds are doing it.

The released specs of the 6600 indicate that it will perform like the RTX 2060 Super, which launched two years ago for $400. The 6600 will have a lower power consumption compared to the 2060S, but that's it.

So, all I have to say about the 6600 being priced at €600/$700 is lol.

Probably placeholder (nonsense) prices. On the Portuguese site you can get the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming 8GB (in stock) for 549€. Link

Even if it launches at, that price is too high, but it definitely should help relieving the market ...

This whole gen is dead in the water, really. Or maybe people have bought one for gaming, either way, its going to be interesting how long the support's gonna be going forward, seeing as the market share of these things won't be fantastic for gaming.

Its not really relevant what gets released at this point, we're going to need a fresh gen to get tickled proper again. Even if a GPU is somewhat competitive (as in, not double what it should be, but still far too expensive) at some point in the coming months, you're going to be buying it só late in this gen, you're already looking at announcements for the next one. FOMO is right around the corner, and you can rest assured we'll be having a new kind of Turing > Ampere moment across the board, where 2080ti gets slashed in half MSRP or better. We're just about closing in on the Nvidia SUPERs which usually heralds 'somewhat more competitive' stack prices, except now you're too late. After all, anything else/more expensive is unobtanium right from the get go. Even without the scarce GPUs prices are already at the limit of what's doable. And I sincerely doubt AMD or Nvidia are ready to let Intel take over dGPU straight away.

You have to consider time is always on your side. If the GPU per gen doesn't get a lot stronger or more competitive its a simple no-buy, so this forces the market anyway. And people are going to compare on perf to last gen or their gen too. Its not a hard thing to see how much you get screwed.

I sure hope so. It was quite unreal to see 2080 Ti's go for super cheap on the used market after a couple years of that card being priced at four figures. Maybe with so many people currently owning a 30-series card, we will see the used market flooded even more than we did before.

Definitely. I had a GTX 750 Ti for six years before I upgraded to an RTX 2060 Super. It would be an understatement to say that the upgrade was significant. And yet, I had a great time with my 750 Ti. If the market is not favorable now, I will wait half a decade or even longer until it is. And once I do upgrade, it'll be amazing.

Going by how everyone and their grandmother experiencing real or "reported" shortages, each industry used it to re-set the market and do their level best to establish higher prices in general.
Further, in the GPU market hypothetical crypto margins dictate prices for a while now, so why not release a low-end card for around 600€.

Because 2 retailers listed heavily inflated prices doesn't mean anything, 6600 XT were available from a few UK retailers from £380 that includes 20% VAT, this is just more scalping pricing, upon release I would imagine you might be able to pick one up if you shop around and get one early for £320+ though imo this should be a £220 GPU as it's performance will be under the 6600 xt which is around 5700 xt performance making this maybe slightly better than a 5600 xt which you could pick up last year before the mining craze kicked off from £250
