DX10 compatible with XP?

Quick question:

Is DX10 compatible with XP? I was looking to build a DX10 compatible system, but I want to keep XP until Vista comes out with it's first SP. Will this work?

The cards will work with XP, but DX10 will not.

There is a company striving to bring out compatability of DX10 to XP, we'll have to wait and see if they can pull it off successfully without sever performance drops and compatability issues. Check TPU's news history, I believe that was an article on the main page a couple weeks ago.

trust me that is not going to get anywhere... and if it does then the performance will be soo bad you'll want to get Vista anyway.

True, but we'll have to wait and see what actually happens from it and if it's worthy or not, hell MS could be doing something, but I doubt it. But it gives people at least some hope of DX10 on XP, even if it's not as good as on Vista. It expands options for those not wanting to switch to Vista.

tbh I'd wait with the Cards too. the ones out atm arent exactly perfect either. Just like Vista

Totally. You can create a partition with only DOS on it (or simply create a virtual machine). You can't even see NTFS volumes though..

I don't know.. You can use a USB-stick though. What do you need DOS for, BTW?
