Does DRM enabled E-book reader mean that it can't read regular PDF files?

and Netbook vs E-reader which is better?(cause they cost almost the same)

My dad bought a Kindle and loved it. It is used everyday for the newspaper (newspaper never fails to be delivered like in real life) Also, access the Amazon store is good.

On your topic, I was able to read PDFs on it, the battery life is REALLY long. If WIFI is off on it, it lasts a long time.
