e8400 Upgrade? or not to Upgrade?

I have a e7200 that is running great at 3.7 ghz stable and have had it as high as 4.1 ghz.

My question is it worth spending a couple hundred dollars on a e8400 w/EO stepping and replacing this e7200?

Or stay with the e7200 for now?

Please help make up my mind...

Prolly not. Do you rly want 2 upgrade or was it just the e8400 you were considering ?

Stick with the E7200, the difference isn't even there. Unless you want a giant Epenis and want to take a crack at records, the E7200 has no difference. I have had both, so I know what I am talking about.

It is so tempting to get one, but do I really need it...not really.. This e7200 is my first Intel build and I must say that I have really enjoyed OCing it...

Make the voices in my head stop...please...

Guess I could put the money towards a pair of 4870's or 4850's....But don't really need them either...

As JC said there really isn't much of a difference between the chips. Obviously the E8400 could get higher for better scores in benches, but in daily use at the same clocks the larger cache on the E8400 might not even be noticeable. Beyond that I won't say anymore since I would be a bad influence probably.

If you don't need it then no need to waste the money. You could save the money for a build build when the new generation of chipsets come out.

Why not an e8600? Fit had one up to 5.8GHz. The 8600's clock really nice, its just too bad their $275

The e8600 would be nice but yes that price tag...
