See the guide in my signature for basic and easy to understand overclocking. check the guides in the overclocking and cooling section. That will get you started. Shouldn't be too hard to get it to 4.0GHZ.

Seems as though you have already OC'ed it a bit so far. You shouldn't need a huge increase in the Vcore or NB, i run e8400 24/7 with 1.49v NB and 1.3v on CPU. What have you changed so far to get it to 3.6?

just keep bumping up your bus speed until your system becomes unstable, then up your cpu voltage just enough to get it stable. Keep that up until you either can't go any farther or your happy with your clock. From my experiences, I stopped seeing performance gains with anything over 3.8 in gaming.

Yeah, for games and daily use, I run 3.9 with my E5200, for anything else, I just kick it up to 4.0 or 4.1GHZ.

Just keep upping the FSB till it gets unstable, then add some CPU volts.

it just wont let me boost up the bus speed past 380.00 even with more volts , like 1.4v

make sure you set your ram divider so it is not going over its stock speed, and step the voltages, you have a good motherboard, so you shouldnt have a problem.

Yeah, Intel branded motherboards are notorious for poor OCing. Great for stability though. It's also quite possible that board restricts you from truly increasing vcore, even if it is an option to do so in the bios.
