EA Replaces Origin With New App

I installed this new app, found none of the games I bought on Epic showed up. Went ahead and installed from Epic and low and behold, it asked me to install Origins again lol.

It worked for me. Just some games like BF2042 update is actually the whole game. But Battlefront 2 worked just fine. Started the download. Paused. Quit, copied files over, relaunched and resumed. Check happened and the game became playable.

so there are two EA launchers we need now basically... this transition should not have happened until EA was ready to fully move forward with this new app... incompetence at its finest...

Nobody asked for this EA app, but we did ask for a better account system where unlinking your Xbox doesn't permanently and irreversibly break your account, and we did ask for cross-progression on Apex

hey, imagine if another company became dominant that wasn't steam. really we are quite lucky that steam is the dominant one. nothing is ever perfect, but at least steam does cater to gamers for the most part, and they have good customer service.

I've been using this for quite a while. They started pushing it when the rotating roster f EA games began to show up on Game Pass.

That has only ever happened to me with a Steam-Origin link once after an update, but deleting the cache files (or something similar) solved it.

I've always thought EA chose Origin for their store name because of their developer Origin Systems which was up until 2004. Probably most famous for the Ultima Series and Wing Commander. Just another studio that EA killed off.
