So when some others started to list "my" Ace went down 130 euro. There is hope yet.

I highly doubt that anyone who currently has a decent AM4 mobo would just throw it away and would go for x570 one for much more money and same mobo options...

The X570 is more attractive to upgrade to vs going from an X370 to X470. There are things like 10 GBit Wifi Cards, PCI_E 4.0 wired slots and as such the PCB density necessary for ensuring signal strength and improved VRM components. Other than that they are the same. I was contemplating buying one but in no way am I spending more for an AM4 board than my X399 gone are the days of decent MBs for under $200. It is my opinion but I think X570 boards will start at $400 Canadian or more as the board the OP listed would be an eye watering $1678.96 in Canadian dollars.

That would still be over $1200 Canadian. I could build a killer PC for that. At least my $1200 would actually get me a working component with precious metals instead of a stand (Mac Pro) that doesn't turn on the monitor when I enter the room though.

Here's hoping that X470 and B450 prices won't be negatively affected by supply, as I'll probably choose a decent one of them to pair with 3700X. I don't need PCI-E 4.0 right now and I'm not going for 12 or 16 core CPU.

Today maybe, but what about a year or two down the line? Expect PCIe x1 10Gbps cards, down from x4 today, PCIe x1/x4 RAID cards, down from x4/x8, graphics cards aren't likely to change in terms of connector, but could technically use a x8 interface as well. The standard isn't even available yet, but hey, let's assume it serves little purpose already... Progress is just silly, right?

I wouldn't worry about these early prices, it was actually just a bit amusing that some shop listed the God Like board for almost €1,000 and I thought I'd share it.

Here's hoping that X470 and B450 prices won't be negatively affected by supply, as I'll probably choose a decent one of them to pair with 3700X. I don't need PCI-E 4.0 right now and I'm not going for 12 or 16 core CPU.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, that said, some board makers are looking at making improved SKUs for the 3000-series of processors, to make sure there are no margin cases where the boards don't work as intended. The board makers have a full understanding of the current ecosystem for the 3000-series processors and will continue to support the 400-series chipsets until something new arrives.

My daily workhorse is close to nine year old. I deserve something good with future possibilities since it is going to last for a loooong time. I paid 773,86 Euro for the CPU alone. I'm prepared to pay that kind of money every nine year and have the bragging right for only the first ½ year when faster things come along. Just as long I don't need to update all the time.

Thousand dollar motherboards from AMD?

Lol.

Almost time for a new hobby! Not gonna pay 5k to sit at the top of the line lol. Ahh well.

PCIe isn't the bottleneck in any of those cases though. 10GbE controllers are still huge and hot and expensive, and even a quad PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD addin card only tops out at around 16GB/s - meaning you can easily get away with a PCIe 4.0 x8 interface to the host.

Considering that 10GbE is ~1.25GB/s, though, a PCIe 4.0 x1 card at ~2GB/s would be pretty ideal for it - but at the rate things are going, I reckon we'll see PCIe 5.0 or even 6.0 before 10GbE replaces 1GbE. :(

Thousand dollar motherboards from AMD?

Lol.

Almost time for a new hobby! Not gonna pay 5k to sit at the top of the line lol. Ahh well.
Looks like the real money is to be made making motherboards for AMDs affordable socket.

Bottle neck, no, but many boards don't offer enough slots to allow for the use of more than one card beyond PCIe x1, unless you're happy to share with your GPU. Point here being, with a faster bus/interface, that will not be a limiting factor.

I don't think $80 or less is that expensive for 10Gbps Ethernet, but each to their own.

I think it'll take a very long time for full PCIe 5.0 consumer boards, as 4.0 is already tricky and expensive to implement. And it's not as if PCIe isn't backwards compatible, right?
