nobody else has had what i described above happen to them??
Sure. I've been jumped plenty of times. I have bounties placed on my head.
Actually, my logic is "I've paid retail price for every TES from you except Daggerfall (bought that secondhand, because I heard it was weak.....it was), have BOX editions of the Oblivion expansions, GOTY Morrowind and Oblivion, and you guys couldn't install LAA out of the box??? I'm not supporting these bad habits any longer . "
it was for a specific reason, but i can't remember what now lol, you know you've put too many hours in a game when that happens
Oh, I've got the Completely legal Skyrim, with the added bonus of a hardback Strat guide. I bought it. Fair and Square. And this IS all Bethesda's fault. I'm not referring to the driver issues. I'm referring to the need to enable Large Address Awareness in a game family well known for it's rabid fanbase creating Gigabyte sized mods, and running almost install-sized mod folders. I expected, and anticipated a need for patches at release. Hell, that's what the CS is FOR. But they've still not released the CS, and they didn't make it LAA in today's gaming world.
All that aside, honestly, I could probably get over, except that my last straw kinda tries to keep me from fixing one of the issues on my own, the LAA: Steam. I honestly didn't realize, because in all the reviews I read, I barely saw any mention of it, and I assumed that it was like many games: you can buy it on steam, or you can buy it retail, but they don't interlace. I was mistaken. They require Steam. And for that, they can kiss my ass.
I don't know if I'm going to give up for now. First my Battle for Whiterun Quest got broken. Now I'm in the Mage's college waiting for something which Tolfdir is supposed to say. Only he never says it. I've got only that quest selected. And not even the quest-arrow is getting it right since it's pointing to the left and Tolfdir is right there on the right hand side of the screenie staring at me with his hands on his sides like an idiot...
I've waited and waited. Fast traveled and waited again.... Tolfdir keeps refusing to open his mouth and Dovakhiin's got a limit to his patience..
No spoilers ahead, just trying to keep thread clean from random screenshots..
Then just dont play the game. Bethesda is one of the last good RPG makers that hasnt sold out to EA or Activision. If you think the game has problems now, wait til that happens. Then you'll be saying "Oh if I only supported Bethesda so they didnt have to sell out."
I'll check the strat tonite when I get home, BP, and see if there's something you have to make sure to do first...
Thanks Ahhzz. I even put on the mages clothes they gave me when I entered college, just in case he didn't like my appearance wearing Nightingale Armor. And loaded a previous save before I gave ...
Azura's Star to Nelacar
just in case Tolfdir didn't like that.
I did support Bethesda, in case you missed most of my post. If you get crappy service from a dealer, or a restaurant, or a grocery store, do you keep going back, just "to show your support"? No, you don't visit that particular venue again, or if you do, you're much more critical. That's me. I did support them. And they gave me crappy service. So now, I'm going to tell my friends that that restaurant has crappy service, the food is underdone, there's guards at the table to check my reservation every time I get up to pee, and there's not enough room on the table for the appetizers. And I'm not going to give them my money again unless they show some serious improvement.
sure, but did your friends in that town jump to your defense and get cut down in cold blood???
One doesn't just walk in to Mordor Windhelm.
lol fair enough, that did not happen. i must have no friends lol
Ahhhh alas I have no real friends (in game lol) so no.
And BP....I have had no issues at all with that quest line. I finished it yesterday. Wearing cloth Vs armor matters not.
Is it possible that mods could be screwing up your quest? I'm running the game mod free (other than LAA).
I have to comment about Ahhzz as well. I keep reading your posts but I just don't understand why you are so harsh towards beth for this issue. It is a big deal for sure but it's not completely game breaking. I played over 40 hours before I even discovered the LAA mod. I just made sure I saved often.
The game is awesome. Beth did such an amazing job putting this game together. I have close to 80 hours in now and I am just amazed by this game. It's something very special. 10x better than Oblivion.
Why would you not want to support this company on future games just because they didn't put the LAA in off the go? I mean if you think the game sucks then I can understand but if your only bitch is the lack of LAA (and modders have provided a fix for now anyway) then why swear them off??
After playing this I can say that I cannot wait to support them more on future titles! Fallout 4 please!
The only present mod I'd like that I can't find is a Rottweiler reskin for the dog as I just had to put mine down.
Still waiting for the Construction Set and majority of mods at Skyrim nexus appear to be more suitable for stylistic reasons towards OBLIVION compared to SKYRIM. The modders just need to break from the mold they're in via Oblivion.
If I had posted the same exact thing, erocker would've banned my ass in a heartbeat. No matter what it was about.
Yeah...the game has been out less than three weeks, however.
Got a little chip on your shoulder there, Ray? And no he wouldn't have...
Well talking about torrenting the next beth game instead of supporting them is reason enough for a warning I would think. In any case talk like that won't last too long before one of the Mods says something. (Though sometimes the mods/admin here seem to be okay with the talk and sometimes they don't.)
I call bullshit. Erocker just doesn't like me so I'm expecting a ban for even my most trivial comments.
Only console cheats I'm using are to add Philter of Strength potions due to over-encumberance and for all characters, buy all the cheese from places and take them from dungeons or marked as not steal. Have a house in Solitude with a barrel full of fruits and vegetables, another barrel with meats, another barrel with smithing supplies, one of the chests with random gear, one cabinet full of cheese, the safe full of gems, one of the other cabinets with stuff for alchemy, some bookcases have books on them, skulls and troll skulls in a container. Trying to see how low the framerate would go if I piled all the eatery stuff, pots, pans, plates, in a corner in Whiterun but no change.
EDIT: I couldn't afford this game either but got it from a good friend of mine. Was even considering paying them back in a way. Good thing they knew I'm a stickler for retail. Now how do I share savegames which a dozen or so are already on Skyrim Nexus?
One last thing, I don't have the 6990 4GB GPU yet, still using the integrated 4290... The game looks great even though I'm running it on a CRT via VGA and 800x600. But the monitor and GPU would be nice to have.
I don't know where you get that, you must think you're special enough for me to actually think about you. You're not, I don't know who you are.. But whatever, stay on topic.
If anyone wants a ban, I'm always happy to abide.
and again, stay on topic.
As long as the discussion remains on topic, and no piracy links or arguments favoring piracy are put forward no one will get infracted or banned.
It's very understandable that those who are getting glitches or bugs feel frustrated occasionally... it's precisely one of the reasons why this thread exists.
they need some form of copy protection, and steam offers much more to the consumer than any other form. i'd rather them choose steam and spend time and money on the game, rather than on a different form of drm.
i get your points, but to be honest you are greatly in the minority here - and it's not because you are one brave soul, it's simply because you are making a big deal out of what isn't, a big deal. when taken into account the scope, quality, and hours put into and enjoyment derived from an elder scrolls game, quite honestly who cares?
Only minor bugs I'm getting are when framerates in towns and some dungeons have jumpy framerates from 36-40, jumping around causing stutter, in some dungeons and 19-24 in towns. Again causing stutter. Took a suggestion from a different post online mentioning create a save and load from it due to autosaves being slightly unreliable. Has worked so far.
Anyone else do some random collecting in the game? For me just cheese, skulls and troll skulls. Of course I have the cheese segregated in its own container.
EDIT: Still anticipating the Construction Set instead of modders relying heavily on the structure for the CS for Oblivion. Just want 4096x4096 stock looking textures for SKYRIM. No damn idea why Bethesda didn't offer it. Could've taken up the entire 8.5GB DL DVD instead of it being only 5.12GB.
How can I possibly dislike you after you say something like this?!
My collection of venison is the finest in all of Skyrim!
Hey guys, a quick question about FOV...
I set my FOV at 80 in the .ini files, but it keeps resetting... Anyone know how to prevent this? (I've already done a fair bit of research on the matter and here's what I've found: The 3 following commands are supposed to prevent it from resetting, but it still does even when I avoid using the game launcher...)
Those are the 3 I've been using... which seem to work for a while until something resets it...
