I used the console for some cash, I didn't put the F at the end like yout examples show BP. Try this:

player.additem 0000000F 9999

That is exactly what it typed for 9999 gold.

Thanks but I wasn't looking to get gold myself, I had tons of stuff, and all the merchants had at the most 1000 gold, so I found a way to get a fence to have enough gold to enable me to sell all my stuff to her.

I know it ends up the same i.e. my character having more money, but it's more satisfying to loot for/steal treasure and sell it (for me at least) instead of giving myself cash and ignore lovely treasure..

Me too!

I can't understand what makes the CPU work so much in this game.

Take this for example:
Spoiler

It's just a view in Markarth. Not one NPC to be seen.
I have 34 fps, GPU1 is 34%, GPU2 is also only at 34%.

But look at CPU usage:

Spoiler

What is taking so much CPU power there? The waterfall??

shadows....

if you have

Self shadowing on

Torches cast shadows

other light sources

shadows on rocks aka land casts shadows on itself this is an ini tweak

so essentially with land casts shadows on itself
self shadows
and regular shadows
+ higher res shadows aka 4096 vs 2048 or 1024 well you get the idea

you've added a massive amount of extra shadows for the game to deligate to cpu cycles

now add AI / Physics for EVERYTHING WITHIN THE UGRID region, that means ALL NPCs in town still have AI / Physics otherwise how else could then walk around and interact with the world ;) the problem is all these tasks are so poorly threaded it loads the cpu to much , and since CPU shadows need to be Rendered AT THE SAME FRAME RATE AS THE GPU, it means your limited by the CPU no matter what.

essentially you could have 4x 580s that do 1000 fps with shadows off, but turn shadows on if your cpu can only render all those shadows at 30 fps then thats what your FPS will be no matter what.

Yep, getting 30-40 fps in town 1600p with shadows on with my setup.
If I disable shadows without Vsync FPS in town are well over 100

essentially if bethesda wasnt incompetent and there game had GPU shadows we could almost ALL run Ugrid 9 stable at 1920x1080 with gpus like the 5850 by itself

Also have you noticed how much are outside shadows pixelated? This is another hint that gets you to think that shadows are CPU driven :(

Hey all, wondering if there's anything else big I should check out with my main character.
Ive done (spoiler tags just in case):

-beaten the main questline
-am leader of the companions
-done the imperial quests (took over windhelm)
-killed the dark brotherhood

I'm looking at doing the thieves guild and dark brotherhood questlines with another character, but wondering if there's anything else that I should checkout.

Started a bit of the college, but all I use magic for is healing, was considering leaving that for a mage character down the road.

As for the daedric princes, not sure Ive started that. I did the dawnstar museum thing, that was it.

Open the console, while the console is open left-click on the NPC and you'll see their code pop up at the center top of the console window. Then type in your command in this case

additem f 1000

I've actually done this quite alot as well as I got tired of travelling to different holds sell all my junk.

Benchmark Scores 2cm mark on bench with a razor blade.
That folder only contains DX redistributable, dunno why they called it DX10. That type of folders are usually called Setup or Redist.

Ah clears up the confusion for me.

---

I have noticed since using the Q6600 there has been a slight difference in the way the graphics look.
The difference is very subtle.
Sharper is the best way to put it.
It could possibly be to do with the frame rate increase though.

As for shadows, I tend to expect blocky shadows to some degree in all games.
Although I find the one second semi-psychadelic shadow flicker when not moving in Skyrim strange.

But ultimately I can deal with those and the blocky noses.
But I can not deal with the possibility/probability of quests bugging out which can eventually cause the whole save game to become corrupt and CTD constantly in specific places.

blocky noses is from crappy normal map generation artifacts because some genius didnt take it into photoshop and apply a gaussian blur filter to that region which takes all of 10 seconds to do lol, just for the record the weird shadow flicker the pixelated shadows and normal map compression artifacts are all easily avoidable difference is 720p stretch to 1080P on a console means you wont notice those artifacts as much so they never got fixed, consoles were lead platform on console these slip up are un noticed by the usual crowd of gamers, that and modders fix most of Bethesda's screwups lol

The companion's base has a/some daedra heart i think, also, doing the questline for MEhrune's Razor will lead you to several daedra's that needs killing, thus several daedra hearts.
Got this from watching unarmed badass viking video by robazz lol

Hopefully the Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB will get here this week. I'll be ordering it from Amazon.com possibly tomorrow and I'll be choosing two day shipping. Soon as it arrives I'm unlocking it fully to 6970. Glad the model I'm buying has two fans on it. It's without Dirt 3. (I also put headphones and Aliens vs. Predator (2010) in the cart.
Can't wait to finally play SKYRIM and dozens upon dozens of all the games I have on their highest settings, only limited by the DVI-to-VGA adapter. Of course I don't have the monitor I have listed in my system specs yet or I'd be playing this, amongst other, title(s) at 1920x1080 resolution via HDMI. It'll be my next purchase after the graphics card but I think I could also swing the 5.1 surround computer speakers.
Just wish SKYRIM supported DirectX 11 and Shader 4.0 But it's alright it's at Shader 3.0 though.
Maybe I'll update my thread in the computer section?
Hate being limited by the integrated 4290...
I'll also be posting screenshots but only what resolution the DVI-to-VGA supports for my POS monitor.

I get a huge performance hit with enhanced shaders but the difference is barely noticeable, is this normal?
