I press X to doubt... Remember alot of this in the case is based on assertations by defendants without serious proof (IE voice recordings, video recordings, etc). Also an employee being racist is not reflective of the company as a whole. Not to mention you have to realize that in this day and age it would be very crazy to try something like that especially in such a huge way as getting caught would inevitable. Were not talking like this was from the 1960's, were talking about 2012. I highly doubt Musk even if he was a horrible racist would do it because he knows it would come to bite him and harm his margins in the end. It can come down to simple statistics when it comes to board rooms for instance.

The $137,000,000 award was granted to Owen Diaz because he proved that the factory floor was racially segregated. EDIT: Hmm, I'm getting confused on the matter, that allegation is part of the new case.

The core fact has already been proven, pushed through the court, and a Jury of 12 agreed with the evidence. The secondary case being pushed by California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing because this Owen Diaz case proved a degree of systemic, higher-level racism... especially as many other African Americans started to step up after the Diaz case.

I'm not sure if you are aware of how solid the ground I'm standing on when I'm making these accusations. I'm quite serious about how bad the situation is for Tesla.

I have read only a bit on the case so I went through a quick refresher. The basics against Tesla still are saying that it was some employees doing it and it is based on witness testimony (mostly aimed at a specific supervisor) and some graffiti. My problem with the arguments is that they are aimed at saying Tesla the company didn't do enough to stop it, not that they were responsible in the long run. Also I think its been appealed/being appealed as the reward for it was way outlandish. Also its likely the followup lawsuits are because people saw dollar signs and are trying to cash in. It will be interesting how those go. Its kinda like the Hot coffee lawsuit against McDonalds (Which was rightfully won, McDonalds was in the wrong) caused a bunch of followups against other fast food joints looking for money.

This is also why Tesla packed up its bags and left California and alot of other companies are as well.

The Tesla factory is literally segregated. Black workers on that line, white workers on another line.

Of course I'm going to wonder where Elon Musk got that idea from, and growing up in a literally segregated country (aka Apartheid) is my #1 guess for influence.

That short of crap has been dead in the USA (let alone California) for nearly a century, but in contrast was how Elon Musk's home country was organized when Musk was growing up.

You can't remove a wall between two or more groups without that wall disappearing for all of them. Also, segregation typically also typically means preferential treatment of one group. I don't know if that's the case here, but if it was, going off history and statistics the group given preferential treatment was most likely white workers - in which case it wouldn't exactly make sense to fight for their rights beyond the general leveling of the field, would it?
