After the world's largest chip maker Samsung, Infineon Technologies and Hynix Semiconductor, Elpida is the next to pay $84 million fine by the US Justice Department and plead guilty to taking part in an international conspiracy that led to higher prices for personal computers. Elpida have to admit its role in fixing the price of chips used in personal computers and other electronic devices which rised the computer prices of companies like Dell, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Apple and consumers of course who had to pay more.
